                                                                                      To live with courage is a virtue

                                                                                      regardless of what one thinks of the

                                                                                     dominant assumption of one’s age.

                                                                                              George Grant

                                                                    Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry

                                                                                        Don Mclean, American Pie

It is very hard to maintain one’s composure when speaking to ordinary Canadians about the disaster in the making that is Canada today. I have engaged personally and via email over the last two years with literally hundreds of my fellow countrymen from all walks of life on the subjects of the national debt, the deficit, the sunsetting of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the draconian and illegal Covid and vaccine mandates and the turbo maladies that flow from them, the various repressive bills sieving through Parliament, the vicious and lying government and media campaign against the Trucker Freedom Convoy, and the unconscionable behavior of the most vindictiveincompetent and unpatriotic prime minister in the history of Confederation.

With precious few exceptions—“precious” is a key word here—I have come away in a state of profound depression. Some readers of my writings as well as everyday interlocutors have accused me of pessimism, which may be true. I recall a remark of Leonard Cohen’s: “A pessimist is somebody who is waiting for the rain. Me, I’m already wet.” Sometimes I feel completely drenched.

I’ve found the great majority of my correspondents do not know the difference between the debt and the deficit. They draw a blank when I mention the Charter or the Nuremberg Code, let alone Klaus Schwab, the World Economic Forum, and the Great Reset. None have researched the deception or willful ignorance among our politicians regarding the Covid mandates and not one has examined the harmful and even lethal nature of the vaccines and booster shots. None I’ve spoken to have even heard of SADS—Sudden Adult Death Syndrome, which emerged post-vaccine

Bills like C-4C-11C-12 and C-18, which are dictatorial measures designed to muzzle and censor the average citizen, are little more than arcana unworthy of consideration. Most people are indifferent to, or approving of, the push for legislated mask mandates, “a result of a compliant populace,” Cory Morgan writes, “willing to shrug their shoulders and give up personal liberties with little complaint.” The government and medical profession’s targeting of parents who resist the sickness of transgenderitis in order to provide a normal life for their children does not appear to move many Canadians.

For the most part, they are not clear on the frivolous invocation of the Emergencies Act and tend to agree that the government was right in acting against the peaceful and legitimate truckers’ demonstration, to freeze bank accounts and to imprison Convoy organizers on the flimsiest of pretexts.

Nor are they aware that Canada’s chief justice, Richard Wagner, a Trudeau appointee, has violated the principle of judicial neutrality in condemning the trucker protest, thereby putting himself, so to speak, out of court. They have taken the false flag operations against the truckers at face value and naïvely fall for the profusion of spurious Internet “fact-checks” demonizing the convoy—those “typical blue-collar folk, doing real work for a living,” writes Rex Murphy, “a representative group of Canadian citizens with relevant and pressing concerns.”

Nor are they familiar with the Liberal finessing of the related Commission of Inquiry. Convoy lawyer Brendan Miller, for example, was removed from the Inquiry after asking embarrassing questions of the government and objecting to its redacted documents. And as expected, the hearing ended with the government presenting no relevant information, justifying its position, and relying on what Director of the National Citizens Coalition Alexander Brown wittily called, adapting a famous phrase from Hannah Arendt, “the banality of bureaucratic abuse.” The entire operation was an exercise in futility.

They do not know that Justin Trudeau has bought off the press with handsome tax rebates and emoluments, and most have declared their intention to vote for him again. Rampant inflation is laid at the door of Vladimir Putin rather than at Trudeau’s reckless economic policies, energy shutdowns, pandemic over-spending, skyrocketing carbon taxes, anti-farming animus, and record borrowing. They believe in the canard of global warming and they are still convinced that the unvaccinated are viral shedders, though we now know that the vaccinated are the major transmitters. And they are proud to be Canadians, “the best country on earth,” as all too many have proclaimed.

Aspects of what I regard as citizen failure are, of course, to be found almost everywhere, but rarely to the extent that we observe here. Ontario MPP Joel Harden put it in a nutshell on Canada’s Remembrance Day, November 11: “The most formidable check on all politicians are active and engaged citizens who are the lifeblood of any democracy.” We still have our heroes, but they are a visibly shrinking minority. The lifeblood is seeping away. In the words of John Mac Ghlionn at The Epoch Times, “the environment that Trudeau and his colleagues have created [is] one steeped in paranoia and suspicion. They have managed to turn a once respectable country into a surveillance state.”

In some respects Canada under Trudeau is gradually becoming a vassal state.

As Major Russ Cooper, CEO of Canadian Citizens for Charter Rights and Freedoms (C3RF), observes, Canada is now intent “on appropriating offshore causes capable of displacing and denigrating the sovereignty of itself and its citizens.” It is outsourcing its independence “in matters of public health, our military procurement priorities and our own energy production” to foreign bodies and organizations, like the UN, the WHO and the WEF. “It would appear,” Cooper concludes, that “the prime minister’s declaration that Canada was the “first post-national state” with no “core identity” is the better indicator of just where the country is going.”

In thrall to the globalist agenda, Ottawa will introduce legislation to achieve net-zero GHG (greenhouse gasses), at a prohibitive cost to both energy and agricultural production. Yet, according to government statistics, Canada generates merely 1.5 percent of global GHG emissions. Needlessly decarbonizing the productive sector will eventually impoverish the country, as it did Sri Lanka, which seems increasingly to be the prime minister’s ambition. (The fascinating theory of abiotic oil, of course, is dismissed out of hand.)

Another of the scandals we are presently facing is called MAID or Medical Assistance in Dying. This new euthanasia program, which the World Medical Journal describes as “normalizing death as ‘treatment’ in Canada,” is affecting not only the disabled but the elderly, the poor and the homeless as well. Euthanasia, as Stephen Green writes in PJ Media, “the weeding out of undesirables by official means, has been a tenet of progressive ideology from the very beginning,” a system that “encourage[es] suicide over treatment.”

Canada has become the contemporary poster boy for this outrageous regime. Put bluntly, people who no longer recognize the country they grew up in have only two options: to leave or to die.

Thus, it comes as no surprise that Canadians are abandoning the countryin ever-growing numbers. Remaining in Canada depends on whether one considers it to be politically salvageable. For those who have settled elsewhere, the answer is a clear No. For these emigrants, this is not a question of weakness or moral defeat but of simple clarity. It can be said, to adopt George Grant’s injunction, that they are living with courage, for it takes courage to leave everything behind and begin anew in unfamiliar surroundings. They have taken the measure of the situation and do not expect a supine and stupefied citizen body to awaken to the reality of its condition.

Canada is now an immigrant-ridden and fissiparous country, the majority of its people wallowing in obliviousness and proud, it would seem, of their deference to authoritarian dictate. Perhaps the only solution, if there is one, is prairie secession, the goal of the Wexit movement, which appears to be gathering some momentum. The prairie provinces would make a viable and prosperous independent country. Admittedly, it’s a long shot, but discontent is mounting.

Whether or not the movement prospers, there are encouraging signs of pushback against federal government ordinances. The provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan in particular have served notice they intend to resist Trudeau’s energy policies, the threat of a digital ID rollout, and the likelihood of renewed vaccine mandates and passports. Once the energy and agricultural backbone of the nation, and presently under the enlightened leadership of Danielle Smith and Scott Moe, respectively, these two provinces currently represent a silver lining in a massively dark cloud.

But one thing should be obvious by now: we cannot go back to the status quo ante. The levee is dry.

Freedom Events in Penticton This Week & Going Forward

image.png

Dear Penticton4Freedomites,

The worldwide freedom movement has been experiencing a lull in attendance because of the lifting of mask mandates and some of the international parliamentary and judicial decisions to declare the pandemic over, Canada being the exception. So, we like many other freedom organizations across the country are taking advantage of this fact to develop stronger structures, clearer strategic objectives, and better methods for collaboration.

To that end, we’ve formed a volunteer five-person Member Support Team, who were introduced at our April 24 rally, and we are in the process of improving communications with you and the outside world through our fledgling website at Penticton4Freedom.com. Check out our events calendar there as frequently as you wish. We will be posting appropriate events as we hear of them, so you don’t have to wait for the next email to find out.

This week’s Round-Up email looks a bit skinny for images because we have had complaints about the size of the graphics in a standard email format. While they may look pretty, they take up a lot of space in your inbox and frequently do not display properly on certain email sites. So, we will be using our website to display whatever images we’ve been sent for the events we list, and you can see them by clicking on the specific event of interest in our online calendar.

Watch for further improvements as we go along. These things require a lot of TLC, and we are grateful to those volunteers and sponsors who have stepped up to make it all happen. Meanwhile…

National Citizen’s Conference: Victoria, BC / May 28, 29

Dear Freedom Family, (a message from Ted Kuntz, President, Vaccine Choice Canada)

In recognition of the 40th anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, a National Citizen’s Conference will be held in Victoria, BC to assemble a coalition of leaders, including the Honourable Brian Peckford, to discuss the future of democracy in Canada. This gathering to Reclaim Canada will take place from May 28th to May 29th and will be jointly hosted by We Unify Canada, Taking Back Our Freedoms, Vaccine Choice Canada, Freedom Rising and many others.

The conference will focus on peaceful action as well as the principles that embody fundamental individual liberties. Our goal is to bring together Canadians from across the country to explore a national strategy to advance our democracy and repair the damage that stems from political and societal dissonance.  We see this as a historic event as Canadians endeavour to reclaim our democracy, our rights and freedoms, and our country. We welcome your ideas and contributions to rectifying the current situation in Canada and globally.

More MSM deception & lies/omission

In an excellent interview, lawyer Keith Wilson for Brian Peckford and Tamara Lich, noted that when the gov’t obtained an injunction to prohibit the trucks from honking their horns in Ottawa, the Judge conceded that “…provided the terms of this Order are complied with, the defendants and other persons remain at liberty to engage in a peaceful, lawful and safe protest.” So in the face of a court judgment admitting that the truckers had a Constitutional liberty for their protest, the Trudeau Gov’t still declared an emergency, beat people, damaged their vehicles and denied our Constitutional freedoms in the process. Interesting how the MSM failed to tell Canadians that the Judge recognized that the truckers had the right to be there in the first place.

Only 9% of Canadians have caught COVID, 99% recovery rate

Not surprisingly, we have been promoting for 18 months that the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) that BC Public Health Officer Bonnie the Commie Henry relies upon, is not an accurate reflection of the seriousness (or lack thereof) of COVID-19. It is the Infection Fatality Rate (IFR), or the number of people that have died that were infected.

In Canada, at most, only .09% of Canadians have caught the virus, with a 99% survival rate, or. 0009%. Considering that a large percentage of infections are never reported, this increases the number of infected people and increases the percentage who survived!

The average flu IFR is about .01-.02%. For almost the entire past two years, the IFR for COVID-19 has been the same or lower than the flu.

Back pay?

More people are starting to return to work, with many getting back pay for their time off on unpaid leave for refusal to subject themselves to the experimental gene therapy treatment. Sadly, far too many people have still lost their jobs with no back pay and no call backs. Employers should be absolutely financially responsible to these people.

https://www.richmond-news.com/local-news/backpay-ordered-for-unvaccinated-richmond-city-workers-5225644

Horgan the Infected

Premier Horgan concedes he has COVID-19, but with “mild symptoms” because he is fully vaccinated. Hmmmm. These experimental injections were initially promoted to prevent transmission. When that became obvious as to not be working as promoted, they were claimed to reduce symptoms. Horgan and many others who were vaccinated, remain symptomatic and in a transmittable stage of the infection. This provides further evidence dispelling all claims that we need to be vaccinated to prevent others from getting it. Horgan is and can still transmit to others even with mild symptoms.

A cruise ship with 100% vaccination rate on board, recently was hit with an outbreak! So rather than admit that the vaccines don’t work…the CDC is recommending a 4th vaccine and 5th in the fall.

Masks = dumbed down children

Not that any mother really needs to be told this (well, maybe millions of mothers masking their kids do), a recent study confirmed that mask wearing by children has left many, if not most, “…struggling with crawling, using the toilet independently and making friends.” A further German study confirmed that reading skills have droped significantly with the mandatory use of masks on toddlers. Children born two years ago will only know adults with masks on. Is this normal? OR SAFE? Undoubtedly, it will leave our country with a large number of uneducated children as they grow older. By 18, they will likely have the education that we (+50) had by age 12. Is there any better way to destroy a country than be destroying their intelligence – and then invading?

More sports withdrawals

Recently a whopping 15 people have bowed out of the Miami Tennis Tournament, citing illness. People are asking why – but no one dares say it was because of the vaccines do they?

Fifteen Signs You’re in an Abusive Relationship With Your Government

Whatever you do, stay out of abusive relationships.

1. Stops you from seeing friends and family;

2. Won’t let you go out without permission;

3. Tells you what to wear;

4. Monitors your phone and emails;

5. Controls your finances;

6. Controls what you read, watch, and say;

7. Monitors everything you do;

8. Punishes you for breaking rules that keep changing;

9. Tells you the abuse is for your own good;

10. Pretends to know better;

11. Doesn’t allow you to question;

12. Tells you that you’re crazy and no one agrees with you;

13. Calls you names and shames you;

14. Gaslights you, attempting to change your memory of events; and

15. Plays the victim when things go wrong.

If all this sounds familiar, you might be thinking of our relationship with Big Government under COVID-19 tyranny.

Whatever you do, stay out of abusive relationships. In the video below, psychologist Richard Schulman

lists a few signs that you have become trapped in one.

Kelowna Convoy Rally – Huge Success

Thank you to all who joined us this past Saturday, January 29 for another huge
display of opposition to Bonnie the Commie, and the Trudeau Communist Gov’t.

If one considers all those who support but couldn’t make it due to work or other
reasons, those who are simply too scared to be in the public eye, or fearful of
losing employment or family / friend relationships, it is clear that support to end t
hese lockdowns is well over 50%!!

Ordering the media to not give us a platform as Castanet has admitted, has
failed our corrupt governments. It has only delayed the inevitable.

We are getting closer and closer to have these restrictions removed.
Many other countries have done so, and slowly, our provinces are doing
the same – but only because of our continued pressure and public activities.
But as evidenced by Bonnie the Commie’s recent extension of vaccine
passports until June 2022, we have a way to go.

Remember however, our rallies cannot end until all four of these events happen:

1/ Bonnie the Commie, Farnworth, Dix and Horgan, and their Bureaucratic
underlings, are criminally charged and removed from office;

2/ That those people taking their place do so on the knowledge and
understanding that these rights and freedoms restrictions will never
happen again; and,

3/ That all decision makers in the media are also charged for their
part in covering up the facts that they knew would have exposed
this fraud right from the beginning.

4/ All restrictions are removed – not just some. Plexiglass
barriers are removed, people do not wear masks anymore,
and no mandatory vaccines. ALL mandates are removed.

Here folks, is an inspiring picture and short video of the front of our Kelowna
Convoy rally. Many hundreds more lined the sides and the Bear up top where
this picture was taken, and up and down the streets supporting the hundreds
of vehicles in the Kelowna Convoy.

As more people become active, the politicians are feeling the pressure.
Events at Coutts, Ottawa and other locations are forcing politicians and
health officials, to begin to back off.

Stay with us as winter begins to come to an end this month.
And continue to join our support groups as we watch our victory
this year come to fruition.

This is What Real Leadership Looks Like: Former Newfoundland Premier Brian Peckford Sends Open Letter About COVID Hysteria to B.C. Premier Horgan — “You Have Not Made the Case”

Open Letter to Premier Horgan —You Have Not Made The Case

April 20, 2021 / brianpeckford

Dear Premier Horgan,

I have been reading the news reports of you and your Government’s latest efforts announced yesterday, April 19, 2021 concerning the Wuhan Virus. It is difficult to get any written material directly of what you said but only press reports of what you are alleged to have said. Your own website does not carry your comments, for example. And the travel section of your website on restrictions talks of regions, not health regions, although the press talk of health regions. One should not have to wait for such important issues to be clarified now thirteen months in.

Additionally, Government pronouncements on the facts have been limited.  These often talk of cases as if they were all sick people, and I have not see the numbers of total acute care beds in the Province and total ICU beds. I have had to look elsewhere to find such information. What percentage of cases end up as hospitalization, what is the fatality rate for various age groups? What is the recovery rate? There seems to be no balance of all the facts but rather a concentration on the dire straits we are all in. Surely some context is necessary.

Sadly, you have followed the mantra of so many places where lockdowns have been implemented and have ignored the efforts of jurisdictions who have refrained from lockdowns or implemented mild ones.

If you had looked at this information, you would have seen that places like Florida have been successful without resorting to extreme measures as you and your Government are now implementing.

But what is most disconcerting for me are two things:

A. You and your Ministers have paid little attention, if any, to providing citizens with any type of cost benefit analysis when you announce your restrictive measures. This, in my view, is a major failing.

When the pandemic first affected this province, one perhaps could find sympathy with the view of move fast, figure out later. But not now. You have had time with your scores of advisors, experts, etc. to take a more thoughtful approach and examine the evidence. Have you, for example, read The Great Barrington Declaration of October 04, 2020? This has been authored, as of this date, by 13,985 medical and and public heath scientists and 42,520 medical practitioners.  Three of the founders of this declaration are world renowned professors and researchers at Oxford, Dr. Sunetra Gupta, Stanford, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Harvard, Dr. Mutha Kulldorff, two Canadians, Dr. Matthew Strauss of Queen’s University and Dr. Annie Janvies, University of Montreal. Have you contacted these Canadians to get an alternative point of view?

Dr Joseph A. Ladapo, Professor of Medicine , UCLA, writing in the Wall Street Journal today, comments in his article entitled ‘An American Epidemic of Covid Mania’ :

‘Covid mania has also wreaked havoc on science and its influence on policy. While scientists’ passion for discovery and improving health has fueled research on the novel coronavirus, Covid mania has interpreted scientific advancements through an increasingly narrow frame. There has only been one question: How can scientific findings be deployed to reduce Covid-19 spread? It hasn’t mattered how impractical these measures may be. Discoveries that might have helped save lives, such as better outpatient therapies, were ignored because they didn’t fit the desired policy outcome.’

As an elected public official, I submit you have not made your case regarding the new restrictions taking into account a cost benefit analysis. At least the public has not seen any such analysis, which I think they deserve.

B. In all the statements that you, your Ministers and officials have made since the beginning, I find a blatant disregard for the provisions in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms of our Constitution. One would have thought that you would have shared with the public your appreciation for these provisions and provided what you thought was a reasoned analysis of why you believed your Government’s measures could constitutionally override these Charter provisions. To not have done so is, in my view, a dereliction of your obligation as the First Minister of this Province. Already, various Provincial orders and regulations are being questioned and overridden by the courts.

I must remind you as one who was intricately involved in the Charter that it contains the following:

Fundamental freedoms

2 Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:

(a) freedom of conscience and religion;

(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;

(c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and

(d) freedom of association.

And

Mobility of citizens

6 (1) Every citizen of Canada has the right to enter, remain in and leave Canada

Rights to move and gain livelihood
(2) Every citizen of Canada and every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right

(a) to move to and take up residence in any province; and

(b) to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province.

And

Life, liberty and security of person

7 Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.

And

Treatment or punishment

12 Everyone has the right not to be subjected to any cruel and unusual treatment or Provincially [ sic ] punishment.

I submit that you have not made the case for your Government’s orders and regulations in the context of the Charter provisions, and that such a consideration and analysis is necessary and made public, a requirement I would think, before embarking on measures which clearly breech  fundamental rights and freedoms in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms which is a part of The Constitution of Canada.

No one doubts the seriousness of the situation, but in a democracy like ours one is not relieved of fundamental responsibilities when the health of all citizens and rights and freedoms of all those citizens are crucially at stake.

Hence, taxpayers and citizens, deserve a full cost benefit analysis of the measures and a full constitutional analysis. Only then can severe restrictions be soberly assessed.

Hon. A. Brian Peckford, P.C.
