Ron DeSantis Flies To Israel To Destroy Free Speech In Florida
This week Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida made a trip to Israel to sign HB 269, a bill that makes it a felony with up to five years in jail for passing out “offensive” flyers or pamphlets. This move has been widely criticized by free speech advocates and legal experts as a gross violation of the First Amendment. The bill states that anyone distributing “any material for the purpose of intimidating or threatening the owner” could be convicted of a felony “hate crime.” While we often write about the “hate speech” rules on Big Tech platforms, this is far worse. This is the state of Florida violating the First Amendment of the United States.
The legislation came about after activists from a group called the Goyim Defense League made headlines for several years for their activism efforts. The Goyim Defense League’s activism takes the form of distributing flyers that contain “uncomfortable truths” about the individuals who control the mainstream media in the United States. These flyers have been handed out across multiple states, including Florida, and have been met with mixed reactions from the public.
Despite the controversy surrounding the flyers, it is worth noting that they contain no threats of violence or threatening language. Rather, they present what the Goyim Defense League sees as a reality about the individuals who control the mainstream media, and invite readers to consider a different perspective. While some might consider this information to be “offensive,” there is nothing inherently threatening or “intimidating” about the distribution of flyers with factual information on them. The flyers even have a statement on them noting that they are “distributed randomly without malicious intent.”
The First Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees the right to freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition. This means that individuals have the right to express their opinions, even if those opinions are controversial or unpopular. The government cannot censor or punish individuals for their speech, unless it poses an imminent danger or threat to others.
HB 269, however, seeks to criminalize speech that is deemed “intimidating” by the state. This is an extremely vague and subjective standard, and it could be used to silence a wide range of speech that is protected by the First Amendment. It is important to note that the Supreme Court has repeatedly held that speech that some may find offensive is still protected under the First Amendment.
This isn’t the first time Ron DeSantis has signed anti-First Amendment legislation while in Israel. Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 741, also known as the “Combating Public Disorder” bill, into law on May 14, 2019, in Jerusalem, Israel. The signing ceremony took place at the David Citadel Hotel, where DeSantis was joined by several prominent Jewish leaders and members of the Israeli government.
The bill aims to protect religious institutions and their members from discrimination and harassment. However, many have argued that it does much more than that, and that it represents a serious threat to free speech and civil liberties.
One of the main provisions of HB 741 is a requirement that all Florida public schools, colleges, and universities adopt a definition of anti-Semitism that includes certain forms of criticism of Israel. The definition in question is the one adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, which defines anti-Semitism as “a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews” and includes examples such as “denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination” and “applying double standards to Israel.”
Critics of HB 741 argue that this definition is overly broad and could be used to stifle legitimate criticism of Israel and its policies. They point out that the definition includes language that could be interpreted as equating anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism, even though the two are not the same thing. They also argue that the definition is not necessary, as schools and universities already have policies in place to address discrimination and harassment.
Another provision of HB 741 requires law enforcement agencies to conduct training on identifying and responding to anti-Semitic incidents. Many have raised concerns that this provision could be used to target legitimate forms of protest and dissent. For example, if a group of pro-Palestinian activists were to stage a peaceful demonstration outside an Israeli consulate or embassy, could they be accused of engaging in an anti-Semitic incident?
Perhaps most controversially HB 741 creates a private right of action for people who believe they have been discriminated against on the basis of their religion. This means that individuals who feel that they have been the victim of anti-Semitic discrimination can sue the alleged perpetrator for damages. This is highly likely to be used to stifle free speech and dissent. For example, a professor who expresses a controversial opinion about Israel could potentially be sued by a student who disagrees with them and feels that their religious beliefs have been discriminated against.
The fact that Governor DeSantis flew to a foreign country to sign both of these bills is absurd. Florida is a state in the United States, and its laws should be signed within the state’s borders. The reality that Gov. DeSantis chose to sign these bills in Israel, a foreign country, raises serious questions about his priorities and commitment to upholding the Constitution for the citizens of the United States and his state of Florida.
The implications of HB 269 and HB 741 are deeply troubling. They could be used to silence political dissent, punish those who criticize government officials, or suppress speech that challenges the status quo. In short, it is a direct attack on the First Amendment and the principles of free speech that are so essential to a healthy society.
We must be willing to engage in open dialogue with those who hold different views, and to stand up for our rights even when it is uncomfortable or unpopular to do so.
This means supporting organizations and individuals who are working to protect free speech, like Gab, and advocating for policies that promote openness and transparency in government. It also means being willing to speak out against efforts to silence dissent or suppress speech even when they come from our own political allies.
The defense of our fundamental rights is not a partisan issue. It is a matter of basic human dignity and freedom and it requires all of us to stand up and be counted. We must remain vigilant in the face of attempts to suppress speech and dissent, and be willing to push back against these efforts wherever they arise. Only by doing so can we ensure that America remains free for generations to come.

Even opposition media, who came out in droves hoping to see some incredible fight scene to label me with, were amazed and dismayed at what truly occurred. In the absence of rallies every Saturday, we don’t get the funding we used to that allowed us to print all the resources we provide at the CLEAR booth, as well as the inserts that go into the Druthers newspapers for our Sunday paper deliveries. Future protests are being strategically planned right now for City Hall, the courthouse, and other locations.
Many people believe that the COVID-19 issue is over – and it is not. Freedom is a multi-generational struggle, where we hope to leave a better place for our children. Other serious issues are lurking ominously in the near future that we will need to focus on: 15 min cities; legal actions; digital ID and digital currencies to start. These will require ongoing research and production of signs and materials for public education. The digital ID and currency issues are two of the most critical and going to involve significant amounts of education for people.

Social media users are wondering why the CBC hasn’t received this tag. Please sign the petition to urge Twitter to label the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) as “state-funded media”. | We are truly living in crazy times. My friends at the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition have reported disturbing recommendations from the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying (AMAD) that were presented to the House of Commons on February 15, 2023. AMAD recommended an amendment to the Criminal Code of Canada that would extend euthanasia to “mature” minors! Sign and tell Justice Minister David Lametti and the Government of Canada it is WRONG TO EUTHANIZE CHILDREN. Unfortunately, AMAD has more terrible recommendations. Another tabled recommendation stated that the Government of Canada makes child euthanasia accessible without parental consent. It goes even further, declaring that if the parents of a child, who wants euthanasia say “No!” but the child has “the requisite decision-making capacity,” the child’s request for euthanasia would override their parents’ consent and concern for their son or daughter. These amendments imply that parents and guardians may not be alerted in the decision to administer assisted suicide to their child, who is determined “capable of decision-making.” Please sign and stop this insidious agenda towards legally murdering innocent children. Where did these crazy and reckless recommendations come from? They are based on an article titled “Medical Assistance in Dying at a paediatric hospital,” published in The Journal of Medical Ethics. The paper originated from a committee at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. This committee actively investigated how to best implement euthanasia for children without the knowledge or consent of their parents. Update — Petition to ban Kelowna Protest/Rallies
The Petition and supporting Gov’t affidavits to ban our protest rallies have now been served upon David, on Monday at 4:30 p.m. There will be 21 days to file a reply under the rules.
All documents and pleadings will be placed on our website for public viewing, as soon as service possible. Details of our position cannot be released just yet, however it will be interesting to expose their corruption as we move along.
Unfortunately, this case will have significant repercussions for every protest rally in British Columbia, and indeed, in Canada, as it is being heard in a superior court in the province.

NOTE: As was stated to the Kelowna Protest this past Saturday, information was leaked to us from a legitimate Gov’t source, that both the B.C. Gov’t and the Feds, have been threatening to cut off funding and/or approval for projects to the City of Kelowna, if the City does not somehow stop our Protests!
This was an amazing revelation. Folks, I don’t know if you appreciate the significance of this. The Okanagan has the lowest vaccination rate in the province and one of the lowest in Canada. The interior as a whole, has some of the lowest vaccination rates as well. Everywhere in the Interior, including the Okanagan, had the lowest use of face diapers.
Everyone who has supported our Protests over the past three years has contributed to scaring the hell out of all levels of Gov’ts.
Simply put, if we had not had any significant effect on educating people on the COVID-CON, vaccine and mask issues, and other rights and freedoms issues, and imparting actual freedom activism, neither the Prov nor the Feds would bother with these Kelowna Protests. In politics, nothing happens by chance.
Rest assured, our Protests have had such an amazing effect in support of freedom and opposing Gov’t tyranny at all levels, that they are pulling out all the stops with this Petition to try and stop us.
Their further objective is to make David Lindsay publicly look bad in the hopes that people will lose faith in all leaders, not just him. Make no mistake this is a legal, public relations attempt as well. Sounds good right? Sign me up. But wait a minute, we know that the globalists are master manipulators and wordsmiths, but does your elected official know that? Do they know what is really going on? In some instances yes, but in many instances, no. They genuinely believe they are doing what is best for the planet and for the future of our kids.
This is your opportunity to meet with your mayor and council, MLA/MPP and MP and provide them valuable information. It is also the right time to be proactive and serve them the new Notice of Liability advising them that if they take part in developing a SMART City/15 Minute City they could be held personally liable. In the absence of rallies every Saturday, we don’t get the funding we used to that allowed us to print all the resources we provide at the CLEAR booth, as well as the inserts that go into the Druthers newspapers for our Sunday paper deliveries. Thanks to your past donations, we have delivered over 8000 copies of Druthers, plus various inserts, in Kelowna and W. Kelowna, with lots more to go!
Future protests are being strategically planned right now for City Hall, the courthouse, and other locations.
Many people believe that the COVID-19 issue is over – and it is not. Freedom is a multi-generational struggle, where we hope to leave a better place for our children. Other serious issues are lurking ominously in the near future that we will need to focus on: 15 min cities; legal actions; digital ID and digital currencies to start. These will require ongoing research and production of signs and materials for public education. The digital ID and currency issues are two of the most critical and going to involve significant amounts of education for people.

We are appalled at the Board’s February 21 decision to fire teacher Jim McMurtry. His “crime’? Back in 2021 when the media was filled with exaggerated stories of a mass grave found outside the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. One of Mr. McMurtry’s grade 12 students alleged that Catholic priests had tortured and killed Indian children and left them to freeze in the snow. Firstly, there is no evidence with melodramatic scenario ever occurred. Indeed, close to two years later, there is actually no evidence that the alleged 218 “graves” are indeed graves. If they are graves, there’s no evidence who is buried there and what caused these people’s deaths.
As a good and responsible teacher, Mr. McMurtry gently corrected the enthusiastic student’s comment, which echoes longtime anti-Catholic bias that was once rife. Mr. McMurtry stated that most children who died in residential schools died from disease, which was true not just of native children at that time, but children in general.
Dr. McMurtry has extensive experience and education in Native issues. His comment is not merely his opinion, it is the conclusion of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. According to graph 6 of the report, The overwhelming cause of the deaths of Native children in residential schools (1867 to 2000) was tuberculosis, followed by a long distance by influenza and respiratory diseases.
It’s often forgotten that tuberculosis was a major blight in Canada up into the 1950s. In my own family alone, two relatives spent time in sanitoria to recover from tuberculosis, or TB in common terms.
So, Dr. McMurtry’s offence was to tell the truth!
As unjust as your decision was for Dr. McMurtry, it perpetrated an even greater injustice on the student body. What does it teach students? Certainly, not to think for themselves and follow the evidence, sometimes even challenging currently accepted ideology. No, it teaches them that, if they dissent from currently fashionable Woke doctrine, they’d better shut up and keep their views to themselves. Remember what happened to Dr. McMurtry!
The students deserve better. The taxpayers deserve better.
We urge you to reconsider your decision.
