Toronto District School Board teacher Natasha Mansouri said Sunday that well-respected educator Richard Bilkzsto’s untimely passing is a “significant loss” to everyone who knew him.
In a touching and eloquent tribute, Mansouri told a group gathered at Mel Lastman Square that Bilkszto had a “compassionate and unshakeable commitment to enhancing the quality of public education” – that he was a rare commodity.
Despite the chill and rainy skies, about 100 friends and former colleagues came out to pay tribute to the 60-year-old principal, who took his life in mid-July.
He was an educator who promoted “strength rather than victimhood,” who “dared to question” and who viewed “obstacles as opportunities,” said Mansouri, one of a half a dozen trustees, teachers and community members who gave touching tributes to him.
“I am troubled by the scarcity of people like Richard who confront bullies whether they’re in the schoolyard or the bullies who stand in front of the class,” she said. “I wish there were more individuals like him, brave and tireless who take a stance and speak up.
“If you’re out there, please speak up, you are not alone.”

His lawyer Lisa Bildy and his family have both said it was the bullying by a Black Lives Matter-supporting Diversity, Equity, Inclusive (DEI) trainer in the spring of 2021 and the ongoing harassment by TDSB anti-racism executives that led to his death.
I have requested financial information under FOI legislation on the cost to the TDSB of the DEI trainer – Kike Ojo-Thomson of the KOJO Institute – but have yet to receive it.
In late July, both Education Minister Steven Lecce and TDSB education director Colleen Russell-Rawlins announced reviews of the situation leading up to his unfortunate death. But, after almost three months. we’ve heard nothing from either.
In my view, the TDSB review – being conducted by the King Advisory Group – is the furthest thing from independent and merely an attempt to sweep the harassment by TDSB executives and their preferred contractors under the rug.
The two teachers who spoke announced an award and scholarship in Bilkszto’s name.
The award will recognize an educator who exemplifies the qualities the principal embodied, said TDSB trustee Weidong Pei.

The scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate accepted at a teachers college in Ontario who embraces the same qualities, the teachers said.
Teacher Jon Roberts, who was involved with Bilkszto in a chapter of the Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism (FAIR), said as a gay man who came of age in the 80s, Bilkszto knew about bigotry and hatred.
But he never insisted the intolerant get with the program or else, said Roberts.
“He was calm and caring…a beacon of positive change,” he said.
Pei said he was a teacher who insisted everyone have equality of opportunity no matter “what they look like.”
After Bilkszto helped Pei win the trustee election in 2022, he told him with a smile he better keep his promise to fight for children.

Ragini Sharma of the Toronto Asian Parents Association said Bilkszto was an ally for Asian students – “sensitive and sympathetic” to such students “being sidelined” in the TDSB system.
She said he appreciated that Asian students were considered “privileged” and labelled “white adjacent” by the anti-black racism focus of the board.
“He understood that Asian students do well because their parents value education and work hard to help the children succeed in school,” she said.
“We shared his concern about school boards becoming more divisive in how they handled diversity and equity.”
She added that she knows Bilkszto would have liked the board to do more to bring more belongingness and compassion among students and staff.
“May his soul rest in peace,” she said.
“May his legacy never be forgotten,” added Mansouri.
The tribute ended with a moment of silence in his honour.

The hate-crime charge against Calgary Black Lives Matter president Adora Nwofor was dropped by the Crown Friday, two weeks after she was arrested by police.
Prosecutor Will Tran told Justice Indra Maharaj the Crown would not be proceeding with the allegation Nwofor committed a hate-based mischief by interfering with people’s access to St. Thomas Aquinas School.
“There’s just one matter before the court. It’s the Crown’s application to withdraw it,” Tran told Maharaj, about the single allegation against Nwofor.
Outside court, Tran declined comment, which is standard procedure for prosecutors where charges are withdrawn, stayed or downgraded.
ACPS indicates allegation wasn’t reviewed by a prosecutor prior to Nwofor being charged
But in an official statement the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS) indicated the allegation wasn’t reviewed by a prosecutor prior to Nwofor being charged.
“The ACPS is working to roll out a pre-charge process provincewide, but Calgary is not currently a participant in this process,” the statement said.
“With the pre-charge process, the prosecutor would have reviewed the potential charge prior to it being laid. The prosecutor would then provide this assessment to law enforcement to consider prior to laying charges,” it said.
Government-funded school pamphlet warns against Conservative Party, free speech, Trump & Labels the Red Ensign “Hate”
This report should be on front pages everywhere. The booklet, entitled Confronting and Preventing Hate in Canadian Schools, is said to be a tool against online hate, and is slated for government distribution all across Canada. It is a step toward turning publicly funded schools into Leftist indoctrination camps, with traditional values presented as “hate.” The booklet is a companion to the unprecedented Liberal Internet censorship bill which recently sparked a backlash.
Despite being presented as fighting “hate,” the new booklet instead fuels further hatred and division in Canada.
Diversity Minister Ahmed Hussen was once Canada’s Immigration Minister; he sought to “massively ramp up” refugee intake, and that he did. He also sought to “lead the charge” on the UN’s global migration pact.
In addressing the “core values” that Hussen advocates teaching “our kids”: These are some highlights of the shocking 53-page propaganda booklet, created by the so-called “Anti-hate” network led by Bernie Farber, a member of the Trudeau government’s “expert” advisory group on online “safety.”
Freedom of expression is presented as a cover for “hate.”
Trump’s border wall to stop illegals is presented as “hate.”
Mainstream Conservative parties are singled out and presented as being “infiltrated” by bigots, “groypers,” and “white nationalists.” The inappropriate pamphlet actually states: “While the majority of Groypers are white, there are a growing number of youth of colour involved in the movement, as they engage in antisemitism, anti- feminism/misogyny, anti-2SLGBTQIA+, Islamophobia, and anti-Black racism.”
The book openly names people such as Lauren Southern and Faith Goldy.
It makes the claim: “In our work, some of the most extreme neo-Nazis have been teenage girls.”
It condemns a “specific Canadian flavour” of the “worldview” that is “seen on many college campuses, often under the banner of “Canada First.”
In a chapter on “hate promoting symbols,” the booklet names the Red Ensign flag as offensive, even though it was used as Canada’s national symbol until 1965.
Condemns concerns about terrorism and crime as “anti-immigrant.”
References Trump as a “problematic politician”and condemns his border wall as “racist.”
Warns and alerts about students who may inquire “why there aren’t any straight pride parades, or a white history month during class discussion.”
Without context, anti-police sentiment is taught as the pamphlet teaches that “Black residents are 20 times more likely to be shot by Toronto police than white counterparts.”
The booklet ironically utilizes intersectional tropes and stereotypes “people of colour,” stating that “shared beliefs in misogyny, anti-2SLGBTQIA+, Islamophobia, and anti-Blackness will often attract and unite people of colour to hate groups.”
It heavily promotes the Marxist, anti-nuclear family Black Lives Matter movement.
Parents need to take note of the violation of their children’s minds with Left/Marxist indoctrination. The material presented as “anti-hate” is the most divisive encroachment into the school system to date, singling out and stereotyping any thought that isn’t conducive to its radical agenda. The booklet is in step with Canada’s rapid descent into totalitarianism.

\When I visit Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square or Queen’s Park these days, I can only think of nature films. You know, those videos that document a pride of lions on the African Serengeti, stalking a massive herd of wildebeest. But even for the king of the jungle, a wildebeest makes for a formidable opponent, and so it is that these big cats patiently observe the herd, looking for the old, the young, the sick and the injured. Easy pickings.
And that’s kind of what we’re seeing in Hogtown these days when it comes to anti-lockdown protests, with the demonstrators playing the role of the prey, and the rank and file of the Toronto Police Service in the role of the predators. Except the cops aren’t looking for the sick and the weak — they are cherry-picking those who have big mouths — you know, people carrying signs or barking into megaphones. Those are the demonstrators who tend to get arrested and tossed in paddy wagons, because apparently, being a “big mouth” is strictly verboten in Tyrant Tory’s Toronto, even though it is a Charter right to be vocal.
And so it was that we returned to the snow-covered lawns of Queen’s Park to see which members of the herd would get arrested by those predators wearing police badges. And true to form, those with flags or signs, or who were simply voicing their opinions, were the ones the police descended upon and ticketed and arrested and tossed in paddy wagons.
It was, in a word, disgraceful. Especially considering these very same police officers took part in Black Lives Matter demonstrations last summer by bending the knee in solidarity with the demonstrators. Same place, same virus, same police. But apparently if one espouses a different political mindset, the ‘new normal’ rules when it comes to the Wuhan virus safety protocols do not apply.
Thus, welcome to the hypocritical double standard that now thrives in John Tory’s Toronto in 2021. But please, folks, never forget: “We’re all in this together.”
There is an epidemic of anti-white racism and anti-free speech censorship at many high schools across Canada. If you don’t believe that, then it’s worth looking into what happened at Strathcona high school, Edmonton, when students voiced that exact sentiment: emails to parents, a witch hunt orchestrated by the administration and school board, official condemnations from school authorities, a police report filed by the principal, libelous accusations by the media, and much more.
On February 1st, the school administration at Strathcona announced the beginning of “Black History Month” – a concept which originated in the United States but has, like many American products, been adopted widely in Canada and is now celebrated yearly by various Canadian government departments including public schools and universities.
Black History Month in Canada is not a celebration of the small historic black population on the East Coast, it is an opportunity for radical intellectuals who believe in “critical race theory” to preach to Canadians about systemic racism, internalized racism, historical racism, and white privilege.
What sorts of things were taught to students in Edmonton during this month? On the “Black History Edmonton” Facebook page, the latest post says “Get to know our leaders” and links to a video by Ibram X. Kendi. Ibram X. Kendi (an American), like many people who have made their living from the racial grievance business, specializes in making arguments which cannot be interpreted as anything other than academic legitimizations of racism against white people. Here are a couple: The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.The defining question is whether the discrimination is creating equity or inequity. If discrimination is creating equity, then it is antiracist. If discrimination is creating inequity, then it is racist.
The only remedy to past discrimination against black people is discrimination against white people, and this is somehow “anti-racist”. This type of Orwellian logic was no doubt taught to Edmonton students throughout the month of February, and on the 14th some students decided that they had had enough. After being forced to listen to presentations hosted by the Black Student Alliance in which critical race theory was taught, they created an Instagram page for their own alliance: the White Student Alliance.
I asked the creators of the White Student Alliance what their motivations were for making the page, and they described a school that has totally abandoned free speech and has been indoctrinating students with radical ideology:Equality among all races was seen as a racist act in our school, just having a different opinion was enough to get you canceled. Sometimes even suspended if they saw it as hate speech. In most classes our teachers have been brainwashing us about white privilege and how white people are always the oppressors. Having pride for being black was very encouraged by our school, but being proud of being white was seen as white Supremacy. Anyone who criticizes BLM movement or any teachings on systemic racism got you canceled. Pretty much any opinion that polarizes too far from their spectrum was seen as racist or inappropriate Their first post says that Strathcona has been “increasingly anti white rather than pro black for the past few months” and that students have been forced to listen to “clowns ranting about how terrible and racist are all whites”. They say that “students don’t want to be taught any of that social justice rubbish”.
Their second post, titled “EQUALITY”, links to a video from Martin Luther King’s I have a dream speech, and says that society has strayed from the values of treating everyone equally based on their qualities rather than their race. It goes on to call on students to “rise up” and “demand equal treatment for every person in the school”.
You’re probably thinking “Okay, so where’s the racism exactly?”, and that’s what I thought too, because the truth is that these students are not racists – they are the victims of the racist ideology that is critical race theory, a poison imported into Canada from the United States by ‘academics’ like Ibram X. Kendi and pop authors like Robin Diangelo. But that’s not what the school thought.
The school immediately issued a statement, labelling the White Student Alliance page “inappropriate, racist, and hate-filled”. They reported the account to Instagram in an attempt to get it shut down (it’s unclear what social media policy they could have possibly violated other than “wrongthink”). They then reported the account to the Edmonton Police!
The Edmonton Police, instead of clarifying to the Strathcona administration that in Canada free speech is encouraged, referred the matter to the Hate Crimes Unit. Edmontonian and Canadians should be embarrassed and angry that our police are enforcing thought crimes. Just as the White Student Alliance accurately called the people propagating social justice nonsense “clowns”, so too do many Canadians feel that we are increasingly being governed by clowns, as our government and even those who are meant to protect us become steadily more detached from reality by the day. But let’s continue documenting the deranged lunacy of the Strathcona school administration, because it doesn’t end there. In words that are reminiscent of some sort of horrible tragedy, they assure students that there will be “meaningful conversations to allow us to process what has transpired”. What, exactly, is supposed to have transpired? Students voiced opinions. This doesn’t seem to fit the definition of a traumatic event. The school administration declared that they have “zero tolerance for actions like this” and that many BIPOC (the newest addition to the Newspeak Dictionary) students “feel unsafe and unwelcome at our school”. To be clear, to those students who complained to the school administration: you should be ashamed of yourselves. In Canada, we not only have freedom of speech, we love and cherish it because we know it is one of the key differences between civilization and barbarism. Censorship is anathema to Western civilization and Canadian culture.
The next round of insanity came as Strathcona principal Hans Van Ginhoven sent out a letter to parents filled with much of the same claptrap as the school’s inane official statement, once again libeling the White Student Alliance’s reasonable and widely held concerns as “hate-filled”. Declaring that the student posts “tarnished a true celebration of Black contributions”, principal Ginhoven implied that the search had already begun for the identity of the White Student Alliance outlaws by saying “At this time, we do not know who created the account”.
The Edmonton School Board then joined the fray, declaring that they too were searching for the identity of the dastardly thought criminals. Trisha Estabrooks, chair of the Edmonton School Board, declared the Instagram page “blatantly racist” in an interview with Global News. Estabrooks also seemed to promise further changes to the school curriculum, saying that this would be part of the discussion moving forward.
Of course, given the context and what we have heard from the school authorities so far, this presumably means more “anti-racist” social justice content. She also said that the incident means that they should expend yet more words and time talking about “systemic racism in our education systems”. Additionally, she is writing to the Albertan education minister to “add Black history into Alberta’s curriculum in a meaningful way”.
As an aside, I hear that Alberta school boards are up for election in the October 2021 municipal races. I wonder if patriotic Edmontonians will rise up and vote the current radical leftist ideologues out of office and replace them with people who value free speech and open debate.
Now, how did our great impartial Canadian media cover this story? In their headline, Global News quoted the Strathcona school administration’s false designation of the group (“hate-filled“) and added the additional label “pro-white”. They quote the White Student Alliance’s use of the phrase “white lives matter”, which in the surrounding context obviously meant that white lives matter just as much as other races, but then add that this is “a phrase that has been tied to white nationalism and hate groups”.
Does anyone with a brain and good intentions actually believe that the Strathcona students were motivated by hate groups? We know what they were motivated by: radical leftist, social justice, critical race theory teaching sessions that they were forced to attend. But this type of defamation is just what Canadians have come to expect from our media.
Global News goes on to reveal that the White Student Alliance had sent them a statement, but then refuses to actually provide the statement in the article. Instead, they quote a total of 7 words from it, and proceed to rip several of them apart. Two of the words are “reverse racism” (anti-white racism), a concept which the reader is informed that the Alberta Civil Liberties Center has decided is a myth! Our media overlords graciously allowed us to view three more words from the statement: “all lives matter”. We are then informed that this is “a term that many have described as being hurtful”.
So much for the media, ever our moral superiors, eager to remind us what to believe and what is beyond the bounds of acceptable thought. How did students react? I have no doubt that many, perhaps most, were secretly on board with the truth tellers at the White Student Alliance, but a sizable segment cheered on the witch hunt. What a shame that many students sided with the administration, choosing today’s reigning ideology of political correctness and critical race theory over the freedoms of their fellow students. Of course, it’s not surprising, given the extent to which modern Canadian society consistently devalues free speech and demonizes conservatives.
It’s interesting to note that the students who called on the school to rain fire and brimstone on the White Student Alliance probably, ironically, consider themselves to be fighting against the power structures of society. In reality, they are mindless drones, parroting the same talking points and holding the same opinions as all the major political parties, corporations, universities, banks, celebrities, talk show hosts, comedians, pop authors, academics, and Western governments. The true rebels in this story are the students who spoke out against the prevailing neoliberal leftist ideology of our society.
So, what really happened at Strathcona high school? The media and the school will tell you that the major event was a “blatantly racist”, “hate-filled” outburst of intolerance from a group of reprehensible students who need to be re-educated into accepting the “anti-racist” ideology of the day. In reality, however, the students who formed the White Student Alliance are brave individuals who spoke out against a publicly funded school indoctrinating students with critical race theory on the taxpayer dime.
The real injustice in this story is the radical Strathcona school administration and the unhinged Edmonton School Board initiating a witch hunt to destroy the lives of innocent students, the principal reporting them to the police, the police referring them to the Hate Crimes Unit, the media shamelessly libeling them, and intolerant students cheering it all on.
Anthony Gagliardi, 26, organized a protest for Hugs Over Masks in Hamilton on November 8 — a demonstration that later saw the protesters march to the headquarters of the Hamilton Police Service.
Alas, police would later have something to present to Mr. Gagliardi — namely, a ticket under the Reopening Ontario Act. The amount? A minimum of
$10,000, with a potential a maximum of $100,000! Their reason was that
the Hugs Over Masks demonstration exceeded the COVID-19 restricted
gathering limit of 25 persons.
We caught up with Anthony recently in his hometown and given that he potentially faces a financial penalty
of either five- or six-figures, he was remarkably nonchalant. In fact,
Anthony says he plans to stage future Hugs Over Masks rallies, feeling
that it is his right to do so and he will not be deterred by the threat
of potentially huge financial penalties.
Anthony ponders why an anti-lockdown protest is verboten in the eyes
of the authorities yet, say, a Black Lives Matter protest receives
glowing approval from these very same politicians.
Others obviously feel the same way when it comes to the Wuhan virus
double standard, given that Anthony says he already has legal
representation lined up who will be working pro bono on his case. His
first court appearance is slated for Feb. 22, 2021.
As well, Anthony says he has no remorse for his actions, claiming
that it is his constitutional right to protest and that his human
rights will trump any action under the Reopening Ontario Act.
He’s confident the charge will be thrown out when he has his day in court — wonder if he will have to mask up that day? And rest assured Rebel News will cover this trial. Stay tuned!

Someone threw a bottle and hit Dan on the head. Then there was a scuffle and the police said to Dan “You are under arrest” and the stream went offline.
