BRAD TROST BLASTS PATRICK BROWN FOR BETRAYAL ON ISLAMOPHOBIA” MOTION

Dear Ted,

First, Justin Trudeau’s office in Ottawa recruited a backbench Liberal MP to introduce a motion on so-called “Islamophobia,” M-103.

If that were not bad enough, Justin got Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne’s office at Queen’s Park in Toronto to recruit an Ontario backbench MPP to introduce THIS “Islamophobia” motion:

Motion No. 37 – That, in the opinion of this House, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario should reaffirm that diversity has always played an important part in Ontario’s culture and heritage; recognize the significant contributions Muslims have made, and continue to make, to Ontario’s cultural and social fabric and prosperity; stand against all forms of hatred, hostility, prejudice, racism and intolerance; rebuke the notable growing tide of anti-Muslim rhetoric and sentiments; denounce hate-attacks, threats of violence and hate crimes against people of the Muslim faith;condemn all forms of Islamophobia and reaffirm its support for government’s efforts, through the Anti-Racism Directorate, to address and prevent systemic racism across government policy, programs and services, and increase anti-racism education and awareness, including Islamophobia, in all parts of the province (bold formatting, added).

But it gets worse.

On February 23^rd, the Ontario PC caucus, led by Patrick Brown, helped pass this motion UNANIMOUSLY. Ayes: 81. Nays: ZERO.

Did you get that? No Ontario PC MPP voted against THIS “Islamophobia” motion. Not one.

In the last Ontario PC leadership campaign in 2014, Ontario conservatives had high hopes. They saw TWO candidates, Patrick Brown and MPP Monte McNaughton, campaigning on the deeply held commitments of grassroots, Ontario conservatives, including family-friendly, child-friendly and senior-friendly policy.

Near the end of the campaign, MPP Monte McNaughton endorsed Patrick Brown who won the race becoming Leader of the Ontario PC Party and Ontario’s Leader of the Opposition.

Sadly, Patrick has gone further and further to the left, becoming more and more LIBERAL and less and less recognizably conservative.

Grassroots Ontario conservatives thought that maybe there was still hope for the future with Monte McNaughton. But now, it’s clear that Monte no longer wants to stand with grassroots conservatives, let alone speak for them.

On February 23^rd, MPP Monte McNaughton voted for the Ontario Liberals’ “Islamophobia” motion in the Ontario legislature!

I cannot support that. I cannot endorse that. Like you, I want our federal Conservative Party of Canada to be a Big CONSERVATIVE Tent. Not “liberal-lite.”

If you want to stop the liberal lite drift, and make sure our FEDERAL party is a Big CONSERVATIVE Tent, I ask you to support my campaign to Lead the Conservative Party of Canada.

I am shocked to see these organizations supporting such taxpayer-funded indoctrination.In a healthy democracy, respecting our TRADITIONAL individual rights, governments should not be engaged in propagandizing people.

The campaign against Islamophobia is a serious threat to freedom of speech. The term “Islamophobia” literally means fear of Moslems. Is that necessarily a bad thing.? Moslems have repeatedly invaded and occupied parts of Europe for 1200 years. Radical Moslems today engage in terrorist acts of bombing and killing in the name of their faith. Canadians are perfectly justified in wanting to know the beliefs and intentions of all newcomers.

People should also be free to criticize and question other religions. This is not an Islamic state. There should be no immunity from criticism for any gRoup or religion.

Please reconsider your support for such totalitarian measures.

“At the provincial level, we call for:

All provincial governments to create an Anti-Racism Directorate (ARD), similar to that of the province of Ontario, which examines issues of systemic racism within the government’s mandate, as well as work to create and support public education campaigns on related topics.

All Ministries of Education to commit to creating a mandatory course on systemic racism at the secondary school level which explores xenophobia, anti-Black racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobiaand their impacts on our society. Further, ministries should ensure that adequate resources and funding is available to provide ongoing training and resources for educators on these topics.

At the federal level, we call for:

All members of parliament to support Motion 103 (M103), tabled by Iqra Khalid,Member of Parliament for Mississauga-Erin Mills, which calls on the federal government to study ways in which the government can reduce or eliminate systemic racism and religious discrimination in Canada, including Islamophobia. That January 29 be declared by Parliament as the NATIONAL DAY OF REMEMBRANCE AND ACTION ON ISLAMOPHOBIA.
