In Medico-Stalinist Quebec, the Unvaccinated Are Banned from Church

Quebec’s Premier François Legault has put in place a COVID-19 restriction that we must denounce and stand up against.

He announced that all places of worship in Quebec must use vaccine passports to refuse entry to unvaccinated people!

This is a clear case where COVID-19 restrictions have gone too far. We cannot allow governments to assume total control over places of worship by letting them dictate the conditions under which their province’s citizens can go to church. One’s vaccination status has no theological relevance to whether one should be permitted to receive sacraments and participate in their faith communities.

Please sign our petition demanding that Premier Legault immediately reverse his policy of requiring vaccine passports for churches.

To make matters worse, there is strong evidence to suggest that this policy was made without any consultation with religious leaders in Quebec!

In a Christmas letter by Bishop Guy Desrochers of the Diocese of Pembroke, Ontario, he wrote: “And please note that the Bishops of Quebec were not even consulted before the publication of this announcement which seems to me to be totally unfair to a part of our faithful”.

In fact, the Archdiocese in Quebec has chosen to suspend all masses in Quebec City until January 10th instead of complying with the vaccine mandate, suggesting that at least some Catholic bishops in Quebec are opposed to these restrictions.

Keep in mind, there are already restrictions on places of worship in Quebec, which force them to be below a 50% capacity, with a maximum of 250 people. The vast majority of churches understand the importance of taking measures to protect vulnerable people from COVID-19. The fact that many are not on board with the government with this policy should show that this an extreme and unjust policy.

Join our campaign today. Stand up for the religious freedom of all the faithful in Quebec, who are being unfairly persecuted by the Quebec government.

This issue goes beyond personal opinions about COVID-19 vaccines. This is an issue of conscience rights and religious freedoms.

If someone feels they ought not to take any of the COVID-19 vaccines Canada offers due to their religious denomination, due to the connection between most COVID-19 vaccines and HEK-293 (a cell line derived from an aborted fetus), or due to any other sincere and serious reason, they should be allowed to do so without having their right to practice their religion stripped away.

Premier François Legault must recognize this. Government leaders must not be allowed to coerce some of their citizens into receiving a medical procedure by denying them their right to freely worship. Though he is undoubtably under pressure to contain rising cases of the Omicron variant, Premier Legault must do so while respecting the fundamental freedoms of the faithful in Quebec.

Please sign today and tell Premier François Legault to put an end to his policy of denying unvaccinated Canadians the ability to attend places of worship.

Thanks for all you do,

James Schadenberg and the entire CitizenGO Team

Quebec to table bill banning anti-vaccine protests near schools and hospitals

Quebec to table bill banning anti-vaccine protests near schools and hospitals

No surprise here. Drunk on power from having put his province under house arrest (curfew) for months, further violating people’s rights is just too tasty to refuse.

MONTREAL – Quebec Premier François Legault said he plans to table a bill Thursday that would ban anti-vaccine protests near schools and hospitals.

Legault said the bill will be presented to his cabinet for approval Wednesday afternoon, and he hopes to have the support of all opposition parties so the bill can pass quickly.

“What we want to do, starting (Thursday), is pass a special bill to fine people who are going to hold anti-vaccine protests,” he said at the legislature in Quebec City.

“It doesn’t make sense to have anti-vaccine protests in front of places that are for our children or our patients,” Legault said later during question period.

Earlier Wednesday, the three main opposition parties said it’s unacceptable that protesters are approaching children in an attempt to discourage them from following health orders and getting vaccinated. They said they were ready to work with the government to adopt the law quickly.

Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, the spokesperson for the Québec solidaire party, said he supports legislation but he doesn’t want it to ban other types of protest outside schools, such as demonstrations by parents who support public education.

Since classes resumed last month, at least five protests have taken place outside primary and secondary schools in Montreal. Protests have also occurred outside hospitals.

In 2016, Quebec banned protests within 50 metres of abortion clinics.

Quebec reported 683 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday and five additional deaths linked to the novel coronavirus.

The Health Department said the number of hospitalizations rose by six, to 280, and 91 people were in intensive care, an increase of five from the day before.

The province’s public health institute said 89 per cent of Quebec residents 12 and over have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 84.5 per cent are considered adequately vaccinated.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published Sept. 22, 2021.

Earlier in the week, the Journal de Montréal revealed Ouimet had been assigned to desk duty following his controversial posts.

In one, he wrote he would never “destroy” a person’s life by issuing a ticket for not respecting public health regulations aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19.

“I took him off the road in an urgent way,” Laval police Chief Pierre Brochet told the Journal de Montréal, adding Ouimet had been assigned to desk duty and was the subject of an internal investigation.

Among other things, Ouimet wrote he had been working “since the beginning of the crisis and there is no pandemic.”

He claimed wearing masks was pointless, and that “emergency rooms are empty.”

“I have been a police officer for 12 years to help, serve and protect the people. I will no longer be a tool of the government to satisfy and establish its dictator,” he posted in French on Tuesday.

“I say no to Premier François Legault. What you are doing is illegal and unconstitutional.”

The Facebook page — titled Policier du peuple pour le peuple (A police officer of the people for the people) — includes a photo of Ouimet wearing his police uniform.

On Thursday, he wrote that his badge “will leave me tomorrow.”

“I can swear to you that 75 per cent of police officers in Quebec have a heart of gold like me. They are formidable colleagues who really put their lives and mental health in peril for citizens every day.”

Hours after Ouimet posted that message, a business he owns in Terrebonne —  Académie Beauté Maudite on Des Entreprises Blvd. — was firebombed.

When firefighters arrived, they noticed the salon’s window had been broken. The building’s sprinkler system had been set off and the fire was extinguished.

No one has been arrested in connection with the firebombing that took place sometime after 11 p.m. on Thursday.

Ouimet later confirmed, on a different Facebook page, that someone had tossed a Molotov cocktail inside his salon. He reported his business was heavily damaged by water, and he expressed dismay that his 12 employees would be out of work for weeks.

Ouimet did not reply to a request for an interview.
