Dear Friends,

My pre-trial took place today in front of Justice Todd Ducharme. Justice Ducharme is Canada’s first Metis Justice appointed to the Superior Court under the Liberal Government of Paul Martin in 2004. I definitely did not like Paul Martin back in the day, but fiscally and even socially, Martin was downright saintly compared to the trainwreck we have in the PM’s office now. And indeed the disparity between Trudeau and Martin can even be seen in judicial appointments.

Martin, being a Liberal may have felt he needed to tick a diversity box when he appointed Ducharme to the Superior Court bench, but at the end of the day Justice Todd Ducharme strikes me as a mixed bag who tries to do an honest job as a Superior Court Justice.

Some of Justice Ducharme’s politics, I don’t like much. The guy can reasonably be perceived as anti-oilsands and given that he partook in a mock show trial that vindicated environmental hypocrite David Suzuki, I wouldn’t put Ducharme in charge of Canada’s energy security. It is regrettable that Ducharme appears to think plant food (AKA CO2) is bringing about climate armageddon and that Suzuki (a guy who travels around the country is a diesel guzzling Prevost luxury bus) is the answer. But then again the guy was appointed by a Liberal government, so what do you expect?

Justice Duscharme has a long career in criminal law. I looked at one case where Justice Ducharme sat on the Supreme Court of Yukon bench and threw out criminal charges against an obviously guilty child predator who was also found to be in illegal possession of firearms. The ruling was regrettable but understandable. The lower court judge had no authority to allow the RCMP to search the pedophile’s residence as he wasn’t charged with anything yet, and no actual evidence of crimes being committed was presented to the court before the warrant was issued. It seems from a quick perusal of the ruling if the lower court judge was a little more patient and had he ordered the cops to follow proper procedure and gather the evidence needed to get a warrant, a proper conviction could have been attained. The reasoning of Ducharme shows me the guy has a legal mind and is oriented to following the law, rather than his own biases.

In another more recent case you can see Justice Ducharme displayed some intemperance. He told some lawyers in a pre-trial conference representing a couple who starved and beat their four year old child to death that their clients were “f–ked” and further went on to say “no one likes child killers.” His comments along with some meddling in his courtroom to try to get the couple to plead guilty to second degree murder led to the Ontario Court of Appeal ordering a second trial. In this case (unlike my own), the Ontario Court of Appeal ruling actually made sense. In the end the couple were eventually convicted. Dad was convicted of second degree murder and mom of first degree murder. Maybe the judge could have done things better, but you can see from his sentiment he has some decency about him.

Which leads me to my pre-trial today. I won’t say anything about what my lawyer has been saying as she would prefer I shut my mouth when it comes to lawyer/client privilege stuff. But Justice Ducharme gave his opinion again, as he is an outspoken guy, —- deleted as per my lawyer’s request.——

Given my serious concerns about so-called hate speech prosecutions, this gives more credence to my concern that so-called “hate speech” prosecutions are highly subjective. A brief perusal of who gets prosecuted shows the victims are almost always Hitler dudes, Christians, and social conservatives. Those on the left who say unpleasant things are almost never prosecuted.

For months anti-Israel folks on Toronto’s university campuses and on major highways have been chanting “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free.” Being “free” clearly means Jews who are born and raised in Israel won’t be living there anymore and it seems no one in power and even a few in my friends circle want to explore the uncomfortable question about what happens to these Jews once Palestine is “free?” Anyways, being a free speech guy, I am not that zealous to criminally prosecute those chanting this disturbing chant; especially the far left 18 year old idiots who likely have no idea what they are actually chanting. But it is curious the Ontario Attorney General will sign off on prosecuting my Gospel flyer which has nothing remotely close to genocidal language in it, but for months has given a pass to this actual genocidal speech which is now a daily occurance on Toronto campuses and roadways.

None of those on the right who are convicted of so-called “hate speech” are ever actually violent. Some of those convicted, you may not like their opinions. From my perspective some opinions found to be criminal hate speech, I have actually agreed with the opinion expressed. One example is a French guy by the name of Eric Brazau who put a Saudi Arabian woman who became a Christian in a Niqab and mock beat her with a stick on a TTC subway train while reading verses from the Koran which explicitly sanctions this behaviour.

The woman who I met was a nominal Muslim before becoming a Christian and she experienced domestic violence when living in Saudi Arabia. She and her Frenchman friend wanted to make people aware of the Koranic verses which sanction wife beating. Anyways, someone on the train got offended at the skit as the Frenchman read from the Koran while lightly whacking the ex-Muslim woman (who was wearing a full burka) with a stick in the aisle of the train. The offended passenger pulled an alarm and at the next stop the pair were arrested. The Frenchman (who was an atheist) got 2 years in jail for his educational stunt. In my view Canadian justice is the worst for it.

As it stands now in my case, Superior Court Justice Goldstein and Justice Ducharme are clear they do not think my flyer is criminal hate speech. Ontario Court of Appeal Justices, Lorne Sossin He/Him, Harvesin-Young, and Copeland think my flyer “might be hate speech” and that a second trial is needed with evidence from a homosexual activist academic to make sure we know for sure. Conservative lawyers like Tom Schuck know for certain my flyer is not hate speech and homosexual activist lawyers like Doug Elliot know for certain my flyer is the worst kind of hate speech.

Interestingly, my former Lawyer John Rosin is ambiguous. The guy won me an acquittal for which I am forever grateful, but after multiple arguments on this topic over a period of a number of years, I don’t actually know his personal opinion on my flyer. Mr. Rosen did legal work for groups like The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, which is definitely a pro-censorship lobby group. There is no doubt our world views are somewhat different.

The above diversity of opinions on what is “hate speech” and what isn’t shows we really need to get rid of our hate speech laws as they are written. Trudeau loves censorship and hates social conservatives. The needed change won’t happen under his leadership and the types of judges he appoints are unlikely to see the need to allow a greater latitude of speech in this country. Hopefully, after the next election, more freedom oriented judges can be appointed to the bench and hopefully Trudeau’s censorship bills can be repealed.

After a discussion with my lawyer John Rosen, I have reluctantly decided to return to Canada to appeal my latest Ontario Court of Appeal decision to the Supreme Court of Canada.

I was adament that appealing to the Supreme Court of Canada was a waste of time and that appealing to the Hungarian government for asylum as a persecuted Christian made sense, given my personal circumstances. (Prosecutor wants 18 months incarceration for a flyer that doesn’t likely violate any law in Hungary and definitely didn’t violate any law in Canada a few years ago.)

Anyways, Mr. Rosen and his assistant lawyer, a young lady by the name of Mindy I think, countered that they can see “significant errors” in the judgment and that I really should appeal it. Looking at the flyer from the the point of view of common sense, according to how I see the world, I agree there are “significant errors” in the ruling. I actually see how a homosexual activist like Nick Mule’ could prejudice a judge or jury to find me guilty of so-called “hate speech,” but I don’t see how Mr. Mule’ can help a judge or jury come to an honest decision regarding my flyer’s legality.

Mr. Mule when under cross examination demonstrated that he could pick apart my sentences and photographs, deny what they actually communicate, and read all kinds of nasty motives into my literary work. The problem with this is Nick Mule’ is not me, and he cannot get into my head to read my motives. His idea that my flyer contains “tropes” to spread “hatred” is not true.

Even under intense scrutiny from the LGBT activist infectious disease specialist Mona Loutfy who discredited herself by being less than honest under cross examination, and who tried to mislead the court in her personal crusade to have me convicted of a “hate crime; it was found most of my flyer was substantially true (prevalence of hepatitis amongst homosexuals, prevalence of HPV of the rectum, etc….) and the parts that came up less than 100% accurate were only dated, (more homosexuals died of AIDS at an earlier age when I was a nurse than today thanks to modern anti-retrovirals that were not available when I was practicing); no evidence came out that I was lying (unlike the Crown’s infectious disease specialist).

Sadly, Mr. Mule’ and it seems the Ontario Appeal Court that ruled we need to hear from him, has no interest in the truth of my flyer. The truth won’t likely matter so much as the impugned motivations of alleged hatred and ill will that I am alleged to have, this will be discussed as the driver of my flyer. However, Mr Rosen and Mindy weren’t looking at the appeal from the angle of Bill Whatcott’s common sense. They see significant legal and technical errors in the Ontario Court of Appeal judgment and they believe there is a good chance the Supreme Court will feel compelled to address these errors.

My initial thoughts, while listening to Mr. Rosen was, I didn’t actually care if there are appealable errors. The Supreme Court is very expensive and 100% of pro-family lawyers thought I was winning the 2013 Whatcott decision and they were wrong. Being out of Canada has it’s down moments. I don’t know Hungarian and I don’t quite know what to do here. If I elected to stay in Hungary and ask for asylum, there is no guarantee the Hungarian government will accept my claim and for months I would be compelled to reside in a somewhat spartan, semi secure, refugee centre. But the streets of Hungary are clean, you see no drug addicts, garbage, needles, etc… littering the capital city’s streets.

The streets of Hungary are safe everywhere, people seem more honest, and crime is much lower than in Canada. No Hungarian kids and almost no adults are identifying as homosexual, gender confused, bisexual or furry. Cancel culture doesn’t appear to be a thing here. You won’t lose your job for saying Bruce Jenner is a man. People here are normal and the past three weeks has convinced me the Canadian government, academia, justice system and media are actually really spiritually sick and corrupt.

Our media and government has a religious devotion to so-called harm reduction, critical race theory, gender ideology, climate alarmism, etc…. Our broken justice system likes to pontificate a false and harmful narrative that non-white criminals are chronic victims of systemic racism and therefore somehow merit ridiculously light sentences that fail victims and law abiding taxpayers. The false “harm reduction” narrative is an absolute disaster for Canadians. Overdoses have never been been more common, whole cities are being turned to garbage as junkies and discarded needles litter the streets, emergency wards are swamped with opiate and meth overdoses and normal patients suffer. Hungary and Singapore are testimonies that safe, clean streets, and normal people is possible. I have not seen a single drug addict shooting up on a sidewalk or dude in a dress demanding that I should call him a woman in either Budapest or Szeged.

Anyways, I thought God wanted me in Hungary and I prayed for His guidance in regards to this matter and when the negative decision came down from the Ontario Court of Appeal, I really thought God arranged for me to be in Hungary and that I am meant to live out the rest of my life here. But now I am confronted with new information. So, I prayed again, maybe God does want me to fight another round in our courts, though I have no confidence in their neutrality or sense of fairness when it comes to socially conservative Christians. I talked to one of my long time friends and supporters in Vancouver. She appreciates John Rosen’s work on my case and offered to donate some money to the Supreme Court appeal, if I decided to come back and appeal the Ontario Court of Appeal decision. Mr. Rosen agreed to launch the appeal for $10,000 with an understanding there is no guarantee I can raise anything close to what an appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada costs in the future. There really is no church, lobby group, legal group, etc… backing my court battle.

Most “respectable” Conservatives prefer to fight safer battles, such as gun control, Blackface’s insane spending habits, vaccine mandates, etc….. Those fights are all worthwhile, but Romans 1 and Leviticus 20 is clear God is opposed to homosexual perversion. It really is not about two consenting adults in the privacy of their bedroom. The harm this sexual agenda has caused to children, our healthcare system, our education system and indeed to our civil liberties; not to mention truth its self, is tangible and severe. This Ontario Court of Appeal decision that I must go on trial again is clear evidence that speaking truthfully and in good faith about the LGBT agenda is fraught with serious and life altering risks. Truth is no longer a solid defense in Canada when it comes to so-called hate crime cases.

I am a controversial and less than perfect Prophet that has been given this calling. It really seems only God and a handful of loyal friends has walked with me through this long seven year trial. It also seems clear God has persevered me this far, but I have no answer how, and it often seems precarious, though He is faithful.

Justice Lorne Sossin he/him reasoned I needed to be retried because Ontario Superior Court Justice Robert Goldstein didn’t properly consider the “expert” contributions queer liberationist Professor Nick Mule could make in determining whether or not my Gospel flyer is “hate speech.” From R vs Whatcott:

[43]       Professor Mulé testified about how the identifiable group would perceive the flyer. Professor Mulé explained how the tropes of anti-gay discrimination, present in the flyer, impact the community. The perspective of the target community is not only relevant per se in an analysis of hate speech, but it is critically important to an assessment of whether the challenged speech causes “emotional distress” to the members of that community: see Ward v. Quebec (Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse), 2021 SCC 43, 463 D.L.R. (4th) 567, at paras. 62, 75, 83-84. The perspective of the gay male community as it relates to the tropes present in the flyer might strengthen (or diminish) the hatefulness of Mr. Whatcott’s communication.

[44]       Emotional distress caused to individual members of the group is one of the pressing harms that anti-hate speech laws aim to address. The second, identified in Keegstra, Taylor, and Whatcott (SCC) is the social impact of hateful speech against a targeted group. “If a group of people can be considered inferior, subhuman, or lawless, it is easier to justify denying the group and its members equal rights or status”: Whatcott (SCC), at para. 74. Professor Mulé’s evidence aimed to help the trier of fact situate Mr. Whatcott’s communication via the flyer in its social and historical context.

[45]       In sum, the trial judge failed to address whether situating the flyer in its social and historical context was necessary for the trier of fact to determine whether the text, images, and the flyer as a whole, relied on stereotypes and tropes about gay men that expose them to feelings of detestation and vilification in the eyes of the reasonable member of society.

No doubt Lorne Sossin he/him is on to something when he wants the next trial judge to consider the “expert” wisdom of Nick Mule’ in figuring out whether my flyer is “hate speech” for which the Ontario Attorney General is on record for putting out a Canada Wide Arrest Warrant and is seeking 18 months incarceration.

By the way what does this flyer say that is so complicated and serious that it needs Nick Mule’s wisdom; one acquittal, and more than seven years after the fact, to help a judge determine whether or not my flyer is criminal “hate speech?”

Interestingly, a Russian group by the name of “Foundation for the Fight against Repressions” inquired about my court battles and persecutions. I looked into them a little and discovered their founder is Yevgeny Prigozhin, the owner of Wagner mercenary group. Anyways, I gave them an interview and they wrote an article with what might be quite a few spelling errors (English is not their first language), or maybe the spelling and grammatical errors are from Google translate, as I had to translate this article from Cryllic to English. For a prayer item, and just so you know, I am currently in eastern Europe and seeking political/religious asylum. While I had and continue to have a lot of confidence in my lawyer John Rosen; I have no confidence in Canada’s legal system, especially our Supreme Court of Canada which would be my next step. And at age 55, I don’t really feel like sitting in an Ontario Correctional Centre for the next 18 months and then starting over when I get out with a so-called “hate crime” conviction on my criminal record. Twenty years ago, this flyer would never have resulted in a hate crime investigation in Canada, never mind a charge for an indictable offence that would lead to a Canada wide arrest warrant and an unfavourable ruling from an appeals court. No police force would have laid such a charge, and no Attorney General would have issued an arrest warrant, as freedom of speech was actually a thing in Canada. Now the state of freedom of speech and religious freedom in Canada is such, that a conviction is highly likely and the conviction will likely be upheld in the higher courts.

Since the dreadul Whatcott decision in 2013, the two Trudeau appointees to the Supreme Court have insured the court will be even less sympathetic to Christian speech on moral issues in the public square. I don’t believe I would be doing Canadian Christians and others who value freedom any favour by taking this flyer to the Supreme Court of Canada and setting an even worse precedent, in the area of criminal law no less.

The Crown Prosecution has now wrapped up their arguments. In sensitivity to my lawyer I won’t comment too much beyond what those in the court and on Zoom could hear if they attended anyways.


To sum up the Prosecution’s argument, I think they quoted my medical stats and claimed I lied by saying “15,000 people succumbed to AIDS,” when the CDC claimed “15,000 died with AIDS.” In actual fact I think the number of people who definitively died was just over 10,000, so in any event I am closer to the truth than our current public health officers with their Covid stats. Of course I didn’t deliberately lie, what I did was search for stats as I knew things changed on the AIDS scene from when I was a nurse and when I read the stat I copied it and failed to parse it properly. In any event most of my other stats on HPV, syphilis, gonorrhea, etc…. are correct.

The Infectious disease specialist Dr. Mona Loufky disputed my Hepatitis A stat and then it came out that she completely ignored a Hep A outbreak that she was aware of in the homosexual community in Toronto. Statistics wise if her and I were to be marked on the accuracy of my flyer, I would likely get 85%, and I am a 20 year out of practice nurse. The way Dr. Mona Loufky attempted to minimize the accuracy of my flyer while giving “expert evidence” on my stats, I think she would only merit a 60% as she also underestimated the HPV of the rectum stats, and she is a current doctor. If one throws in that she called my male anal warts picture a female genital warts, maybe she would only merit a D. Sadly for the Ontario taxpayer, the Crown compensated her a nicely for D average accuracy, while they are seeking to put me in jail for 18 months for what would appear to be A- accuracy.

The “big lie” according to the Crown where I “deliberately lied to the police” was the origin of my “AIDS fatality” picture. The police asked me during their interrogation where I got the picture from and I think I said something to the effect “a medical website.” This is where I think I get most of my pictures. It seem to me when I put “anal warts” or “AIDS” in my Google searches medical and university websites is what often comes up. I guess the picture of the AIDS death for my flyer is actually a website called “cutedeadguys.net.” In actual fact it really doesn’t matter where my picture came from.

Having worked for 6 years in Toronto’s homosexual district with hundreds of homosexual men dying of AIDS in the 1990’s I know this poor fellow has died from AIDS. The medical expert was reluctant to call the lesions what they are Kaposi Sarcoma and then tried to discredit my picture by saying she never saw a wasting or skin lesion case like this and opined that Ashkenazi Jews in Eastern Europe could have skin lesions similar to this.

Anyways, amongst the palliative cases that I had in Toronto that looked something like the fellow above (which were many), they were overwhelmingly homosexual males. The wasting condition of this fellow at his time of death and indeed the Karposi Sarcoma lesions on his body were not at all unusual for those being cared for by the Victorian Order of Nurses.

None the less, according to the Crown Prosecutor the fact I said “medical site” two years after making the flyer and not “cutedeadguys.net” is “proof” I lied to the police and “proof” I had criminal intent.

I think going from my memory of Friday this sums up the Crown Prosecutor’s case against me.

My next and final day in court will be this coming Tuesday, October 26, 10:00 am, in the Ontario Superior Court, 361 University Ave, Courtroom 4-6. My counsel John Rosen and Lindsay Daviou will make their closing arguments and then Justice Goldstein will decide whether or not I am guilty of committing a so-called “hate crime.”

My lawyer John Rosen just finished the latest pre-trial conference for my so-called “hate crime” charge today. The “hate crime” is now over four years old. Since then the civil $104 million lawsuit that was commenced with much drama (see the drama here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAosD7J7cuw&t=54s) immediately after my Gospel infiltration of the Toronto unGodly pride parade has been dropped as of late last year. The criminal hate crime charge remains ongoing and now as of today Justice Goldstein has set the tentative trial date for my “hate crime” trial for Monday, October 4, 2021.

One could be forgiven if by now they forgot the Gospel stunt that I pulled off that made the homosexual activists so mad that nearly 5 years after the fact they still want me in jail for 18 months for raining (in a Godly sort of way) on their parade. As for other news not much has been going on in my life. Being out on bail for the past 2 years has its limitations. I had to turn my passport in, so that precludes travel outside of Canada. Now with the advent of the Chinese Communist Party virus travel is shut down for most of the world and Canadians can’t travel abroad anyways.

Then there is the economic fallout from the lockdown and virus protocals being imposed on businesses across Canada and the world. The unfortunate thing about outstanding criminal charges is even though you are “presumed innocent” until proven guilty, in actual fact the police reveal outstanding charges to your potential employers during background checks when you apply for a job and the presumption of innocence bafflegab aside, most employers decline to hire people with outstanding charges. When this sort of thing goes on for years it is quite limiting, especially when the unemployment rate is in the double digits as it is in Canada right now thanks to our corrupt and incompetent government destroying our resource and manufacturing sectors , before the economic hammering brought on by the Chinese Communist Party virus lockdowns and layoffs.

That being said, I have been blessed these last few months to be putting in 20-30 hour work weeks with a temp agency. Ten years ago that would be considered extremely marginal, but today many Canadians with no outstanding criminal charges are out of work and would love to have a 20-30 hour a week minimum wage job. How times have changed!

Indeed times have changed, in fact I believe Canada has fundamentally changed. The freedom and prosperity we took for granted is gone. Thanks to our Liberal government colluding with foriegn NGOs to sabotage Canada’s oil sands, what was once the largest employer in Canada’s resource industry, the oil sands is largely destroyed now. Conventional oil, mining, lumber, etc…. are also almost dead. There are no jobs in any of these sectors.

Eastern Canada’s manufacturing base is also largely gone. Without manufacturing or resources there simply is no means of wealth creation to keep handing out government cheques, so with that in mind the CERB payments are ending next month and literally millions of Canadians will be off CERB and will still be out of work with no prospects of economic recovery coming in the near future.

We could blame the Liberal government for this mess and indeed they deserve alot of the blame. Their carbon taxes, other taxes and onerous; I would even say malicious, regulations have ruined our nation’s oil industry years before the CCP virus reached our shores. We could also blame the Chinese Communist Party as the virus they covered up and allowed to spread around the world has had a catastrophic effect on our economy and quality of life. Had the CCP warned the world earlier that this virus escaped from their lab (more probable than wet market) and declined to vacuum up all our PPE before we knew what was going on, we could have been better prepared and mitigated much of the suffering we are now experiencing thanks to the pandemic. However, I believe there are deeper issues at play in Canada’s repid demise.

“For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:14

I believe God has removed His blessing from our land and it is He who is allowing wicked governments such as the Canadian Liberals and Chinese Communist Party to harm us.

Canada has murdered more than 3 million unborn children by abortion. We have murdered thousands of elderly and disabled through euthanasia. We are allowing our children to be switched to the gender they are not but are not and are allowing children to march in homosexual parades but we won’t allow them to recite the Lord’s prayer in our schools. We have rejected God’s Word and embraced instead homosexual perversion and socialism, so now it is not surprising to me that the land is starting to suffer under God’s judgment in tangible ways.

“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.
If you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Isaiah 1:18-20

I believe God in His great mercy can forgive us of our sin and turn back the judgment on our land if we repent and turn to Him. I know in my own life I have suffered both tremendous loss because of my sun and experienced tremendous, undeserved, grace and forgiveness when I repented, confessed, and turned away from my sin. I believe on a national level these same principles hold true for Canada. I would strongly encourage Canada’s Christians to start to fast and pray for our land. Even if it is too late to turn back the judgement, perhaps with a bold witness some souls could be snatched from the coming fire.

“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

The Ongoing Legal torment of Bill Whatcott: Legal Aid for Illegals but Not Christian Preacher Bill Whatcott?

 

I was in Toronto this morning to attend the continuing saga of the “hate crime” trial of Bill Whatcott.

Bill Whatcott was accused of a “hate crime” and arrested last year under an extraordinary Canada-wide warrant. His “crime” was handing out Christian literature that starkly warned of the physical and spiritual dangers of homosexuality. He had done this peaceably at the 2016 “Gay Pride” parade in Toronto.

For Bill, the process truly is the punishment. Bill has been in the Ontario court system for just over one year now, having made dozens of appearances. Despite this, his case is still at a “pre-trial” stage, with the actual trial date set for January 6th, 2020. Because of all the costs and time involved in travelling to and from court appearances, Bill has had to relocate from his home in Alberta to Ontario, where he is struggling to make ends meet.

To-day’s hearing was called to determine whether or not Bill can receive financial assistance for his legal costs – which are becoming astronomical. Without legal aid, Bill will be forced to represent himself. Considering this is such a pivotal, precedent-setting case for religious freedom in Canada, self-representation is not a very good idea!

The Christian lawyer who has been helping Bill thus far has connected him with one of Ontario’s top criminal lawyers, John Rosen. Mr. Rosen, who is not a Christian, and who has represented some of the most heinous criminals in Canadian history, is willing to take over Bill’s case if legal aid is provided.

I had the opportunity to spend about an hour chatting with Bill and Mr. Rosen this morning, and it is clear that Mr. Rosen is an incredibly intelligent, experienced, and savvy lawyer. He knows Bill’s case, Bill’s history, and has also been tracking other cases involving Christians losing their free speech rights in Canada, like Father Tony Van Hee in Ottawa. He said he found Bill’s case “interesting”.

To-day’s hearing resulted in no actual decision on legal aid for Bill, but another date was set to come back to court and discuss the matter on September 5th. (As I said, the process is the punishment!)

After the hearing, Bill and I spent some time one-on-one talking about his case and the strain it is placing on his finances and family. The prospect of eighteen months in jail is a frightening thought for him, but he is willing to face it for the sake of the Gospel, if it is God’s will. He also told me he feels the Church in Canada is burying its head in the sand when it comes to the increasing threats to her freedom – and to her very existence.

We also discussed the subject of Jonathan “Jessica” Yaniv, a male transsexual who is bullying a number of female aestheticians in BC, using human rights courts to demand that they be forced to provide a Brazilian wax job on “her” male genitals. Mr. Yaniv has also filed a human rights complaint against Bill, seeking $35,000 in damages because Bill called him a man and criticized his bullying of those aestheticians. The BC Human Rights Tribunal has actually decided to take up Mr. Yaniv’s case and pursue his complaint against Bill. As Bill put it so aptly, “He’s the posterchild of all that’s wrong with gender ideology.”

Finally, Bill and I also spent some time in prayer – which was probably the most productive part of Bill’s day! We prayed for God’s help in this country – not only to vindicate Bill, but to wake up the Church! We need to call our nation to repent and turn back to Christ.
