Senate Makes Key Amendment to C-11 Censorship Bill — Exempts Online Posts By Ordinary People

You’re making the Senate water down online censorship legislation.

Thousands of taxpayers like you have been blasting senators with emails about Bill C-11 – the online censorship legislation. It’s a good bet many of those sleepy senators have never gotten that many emails before. And it’s waking them up.

The Senate committee just passed an amendment to Bill C-11 that would exempt online posts from ordinary people. That means if you post a video on YouTube or TikTok, it won’t be regulated by government bureaucrats.

This is a huge move to water down this legislation and CTF supporters like you deserve all the credit.

But watering down this legislation isn’t enough. It needs to be defeated.

The government shouldn’t have the power to filter your news and streaming feeds at all. Any step in that direction makes it harder for you to hold the government accountable. So there’s more work to do.

The amendment to Bill C-11 guarantees that the legislation has to go back to the House of Commons for further debate. That gives you another chance to fight Bill C-11.

But you’re going to need even more help.

Change takes time and hard work, but you’re making it happen.

Sincerely,
