Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson said on Tuesday that may lose his license unless he submits to mandatory \u201csocial-media communication retraining\u201d<\/em> by the College of Psychologists of Ontario, his home province\u2019s licensing authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI face public disgrace, mandatory political re-education, disciplinary hearing and potential loss of my clinical licensing for agreeing with [Conservative MP] Pierre Poilievre and criticizing our standing [Prime Minister] Justin Trudeau,\u201d<\/em> Peterson said<\/a> on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Peterson, \u201cabout a dozen people from all over the world\u201d<\/em> submitted complaints to the CPO, alleging his views and comments \u201charmed people.\u201d<\/em> None of them were actual clients of his, but lied about it so their complaints would be accepted, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The CPO demands that Peterson undergoes the \u201cretraining\u201d<\/em> and submits \u201cprogress\u201d<\/em> reports, or face an \u201cin-person tribunal\u201d<\/em> and suspension of his license to operate as a clinical psychologist. This means that your care and legal counsel has been rendered dangerously unreliable,\u201d<\/em> Peterson tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Peterson was reinstated on Twitter in November, after Elon Musk bought the company and reversed many prior bans that he thought unjust. He had been locked out<\/a> of his account in July 2022, for refusing to use a transgender actor\u2019s new name and pronouns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On December 27, Peterson tweeted<\/a> that Trudeau \u201cappears to me to be perpetually 14 yrs old,\u201d<\/em> referring to the concept of \u201cpsychological age\u201d<\/em> in his field of expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The psychologist first gained national and international attention in 2016, when he was subjected to similar \u201cre-education\u201d<\/em> pressure over his criticism of a bill that declared \u201cgender identity and expression\u201d<\/em> to be protected categories. More recently, he has denounced<\/a> the \u201ctotalitarian\u201d<\/em> lockdowns and vaccine mandates embraced by many countries \u2013 including Canada \u2013 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
