In the name of the&#8230; Toronto toboggan police!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Damn that Wuhan virus! Apparently, it despises those going downhill on sleds, saucers and good ol\u2019 toboggans \u2014 but jamming into a big box store is okay, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And because John Tory is mayor, the city is now dispatching the Toronto Police Service to stakeout&#8230; snowy hills?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=E6xdV-jACvY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oh, it\u2019s true<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That was the scene the other day at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/data\/parks\/prd\/facilities\/complex\/337\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Earl Bales Park<\/a>. We happened upon a police cruiser with two constables keenly observing any ne\u2019er-do-well who might want to sled down the hill. It\u2019s for our safety, you understand. After all, everyone knows that whipping down a deserted snow-covered hill at 30 km\/h is the ideal place to get infected by the coronavirus, don\u2019t ya know? It\u2019s science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alas, confusion reigns. According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/torontosun.com\/news\/local-news\/confusion-swirls-over-citys-hockey-tobogganing-crackdown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Toronto Sun<\/em><\/a> story, tobogganists at Earl Bales Park last weekend were told by city workers and bylaw enforcement officers that sledding was permitted \u2014 on the bottom third of the hill. Apparently going down the hill from the top would be&#8230; too much fun?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But police later showed up and started barking at attendees not to cross some imaginary line \u2014 or else!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, apparently the confusion is all cleared up now. There is yellow police caution tape at the top of the hill and a new sign warns people that&nbsp;tobogganing&nbsp;is strictly verboten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you ignore the signs, you certainly better not ignore the constables in the police cruiser.
