Massive legal victory for the Nordic Resistance Movement!<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

RESISTANCE MOVEMENT. The\n Tyr rune has been declared a legal symbol, and the Nordic Resistance \nMovement\u2019s freedom of assembly, expression and association will not be \nrestricted, according to a Swedish court of appeal. Fredrik Vejdeland \ncomments on the verdict.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 18 December, the Court of Appeal acquitted the 14 people who had \nbeen charged with incitement to racial hatred for having participated in\n the Nordic Resistance Movement\u2019s demonstration in Gothenburg in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact that the Court of Appeal upheld the District Court\u2019s \nacquittal not only means that several accused persons, including myself,\n were found not guilty of absurd accusations \u2013 it also means that the \nNordic Resistance Movement has won a major legal victory and that the \nongoing attempt to ban us in Sweden has failed for the time being. \nFuture attempts have also been made considerably more difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To give a very brief recap, the Gothenburg Trials have concerned the \nNordic Resistance Movement\u2019s use of the Old Norse Tyr rune, the fact \nthat we \u201cmarched in line\u201d at the Gothenburg demonstration, that our \nuniformed clothing etc. in combination with our demonstrations made us \n\u201creminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s and 40s\u201d, and that those of us\n accused for these reasons should be convicted of incitement to racial \nhatred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the trial has been about more than just that. In reality, \nthe indictment was about a ban of the Nordic Resistance Movement, which \nprosecutor Jonas Martinsson<\/strong> revealed in the Court of \nAppeal. Under such a ruling, they would still allow us to be National \nSocialists \u2013 which is kind of them \u2013 but we would not be able to hold \npublic meetings or propagate our message. In other words, no activity \nand thus, in practice, a ban. But things didn\u2019t go the way our opponents wanted. Following a very \nclear and well-defined district court judgment, the verdict has now also\n been upheld by the Court of Appeal. This means an important legal \nvictory for the Nordic Resistance Movement, as well as a gigantic \nfailure for the forces that wanted to ban us \u2013 from the World Jewish \nCongress, which demanded a ban during a personal meeting with Morgan Johansson<\/strong>; to the lackey Morgan Johansson himself, who promised to do all in his power to assist them; to the corrupt police chiefs Klas Friberg<\/strong> and Erik Nord<\/strong>,\n who both did a terrible job; to the tired prosecutor \u201cSleepy Joe\u201d \nMartinsson; and not least to the Jewish organisation Civil Rights \nOffenders, which wrote the indictment itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, they have spent a lot of time, wasted a lot of taxpayers\u2019 \nmoney and had high hopes that the Swedish courts would be completely \ncompromised \u2013 all of it in vain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their resulting distress appears to be total. Yesterday I heard an interview with Civil Rights Defenders representative John Stauffer<\/strong>,\n in which he sounded like he was starting to cry. It was refreshing to \nlisten to, but you almost couldn\u2019t help but feel sorry for the poor \nfellow. Morgan Johansson has not yet commented. What will he say to his \nbosses at the World Jewish Congress? That he is completely incompetent?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the state\u2019s propaganda apparatus is seemingly living in \nsome kind of parallel reality in which they cannot accept the outcome. \nThe Kung\u00e4lvs-Posten newspaper is writing about the \u201cNazi Tyr rune\u201d, \ndespite the Court of Appeal having just established that the Tyr rune is\n in essence not a National Socialist symbol. Then there are non-entities\n like Atle Morseth Edvinson<\/strong> at Aftonbladet, who are \nmaking statements such as \u201ceverything the NRM does is incitement to \nracial hatred\u201d, a claim that contradicts applicable law and case law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facts supporting our positions are irrefutable. The Chancellor of\n Justice, the Gothenburg District Court, the Lower Norrland Court of \nAppeal and now the Court of Appeal for Western Sweden have ruled that \nthe Tyr rune is a lawful symbol and that the Nordic Resistance Movement \nas an organisation does not constitute a carbon copy of the NSDAP, or \nthat we as an organisation must take the blame for any impropriety that \noccurred in Germany 80 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what happens now? As the courts and the judiciary have had their \nsay, all that remains is to try to ban the Nordic Resistance Movement \nwith the help of the politically appointed parliamentary group that is \ncurrently conducting its investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If this group is to succeed in getting a ban passed, they must \ndisregard the constitution, ignore the courts and case law, and walk all\n over all legal experts who have said that it\u2019s impossible to ban the \nNordic Resistance Movement. If they dare to do this, it will be very \nclear that it is a political decision \u2013 taken by the corrupt criminals \nwho are in power in order to prohibit criticism of them. And there are \nenough supporters of freedom of speech and opponents of the \npower-holders in Sweden to reduce their credibility and that of the \ncountry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another aggravating circumstance on their part is that they do not \nseem to agree on how to proceed, or in what way the Nordic Resistance \nMovement constitutes an illegal organisation. One moment they talk about\n \u201cviolent extremism\u201d, then \u201cterrorism\u201d, then \u201cracial persecution\u201d, which\n seems to be their latest gambit. If they manage to push this through \nwith the help of what amounts to \u201cfact interpretation\u201d on steroids, it \nwill have a wide-ranging effect \u2013 which will mean even more resistance. \nHad it been clear that the Nordic Resistance Movement was an illegal \norganisation, they would have already had a case; instead they\u2019re \nfloundering \u2013 the result of which will follow accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now that the case is over (unless the prosecutor takes it to the \nSupreme Court and gives our side further advantageous precedents that \nwill benefit us for a long time to come), I can suggest what the system should<\/em> have done:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should have avoided this judicial process, as it only made things\n difficult for you and benefited us. Instead, you should have pursued \nthe current political investigation from the beginning, when it was \nstill a hot topic and many people could have been drawn into the \nhysteria \u2013 or at least wouldn\u2019t have dared to question it. The right \ntime was 2017. It should be remembered that the mainstream media did a \nfantastic job of agitating against the Gothenburg demonstration and \npushing for bans that year. It was the most heinous campaign I\u2019ve ever \nseen \u2013 incredibly well coordinated, timed and executed. You should have \nused this momentum, but because you dilly-dallied and messed things up, \nthat time is over, and it will take a long time before an optimal \nopportunity like that comes around again. Such things can be difficult, \nbut better luck next time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
