He had been seriously ill with heart \nproblems in recent weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard was the backbone of British racial nationalism. A true \nEnglishman but no Little Englander, much of Richard\u2019s political energy \nwas directed by his insight that historical truth was a prerequisite for\n political progress, and that the traducing of Germany for the past 75 \nyears meant the shackling of the White Race worldwide. Indeed he came to\n believe that unless the edifice of lies about the Second World War is \nconsistently and courageously challenged, as he put it to Prof. Robert \nFaurisson\u2019s translator and assistant Guillaume Nichols a few years ago: \n\u201cEverything else is a waste of time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This entailed travelling to address rallies in Germany and France as \nwell as tireless activism in the UK. Richard joined the National Front \nsoon after the Uxbridge by-election of 1972, which confirmed that the NF\n was a serious organisation worth the dedication and sacrifice that \nmeaningful activism would require.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He soon became party organiser in the racial battleground of Lewisham\n and a member of the NF Directorate. In the complicated internal \npolitics of British nationalism, Richard was a consistent and loyal \nsupporter of John Tyndall, NF chairman during the party\u2019s best years. He\n became a founder member of the New National Front and its successor the\n British National Party under JT\u2019s leadership from 1982 to 1999, for \nmost of those years as National Organiser \u2013 effectively the party\u2019s \ndeputy leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After his place of work was exposed by <em>Sunday Times<\/em> \njournalists in 1988, Richard lost his job with Cable &amp; Wireless but \nthe company was forced to pay him a financial settlement as he had done \nnothing to warrant dismissal. With this money Richard purchased a \nbookshop in Welling, SE London, which became the famous BNP \nbookshop\/headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.heritageanddestiny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Richard-with-Evening-Standard.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9182\"\/><figcaption><strong><em>Richard Edmonds campaigning for the National Front in Eltham, SE London<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard lived above the shop at Upper Wickham Lane. Those were times \nwhen physical attacks by violent anti-fascists were an expected part of \nlife for active nationalists, and Richard was one of the prime targets. A\n letter bomb exploded at the premises in 1994, and the ongoing enquiry \ninto Metropolitan Police undercover operations is expected to reveal \nfurther details of how state operatives targeted both the BNP HQ and its\n opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a tribute to Richard Edmonds that the state and \u2018antifascists\u2019\n combined to set him up for several months imprisonment at a crucial \nmoment in late 1993 and early 1994. Three days after the election of \nDerek Beackon \u2013 the first BNP councillor \u2013 in September 1993, Richard \nwas falsely identified and arrested at a BNP event in Brick Lane, East \nLondon. During his months on remand, state operatives advanced their \nplan to disrupt and divide the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the 1980s and 1990s Richard was the main distributor of <em>Holocaust News<\/em>,\n a tabloid-style popular introduction to historical revisionism that \nreached a worldwide audience. He was always ready to travel across \nEurope to campaign for truth and justice, including the trial of David \nIrving in Vienna, the release of Ernst Z\u00fcndel in Mannheim, and \ndemonstrations in support of Ursula Haverbeck, Horst Mahler and Sylvia \nStolz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.heritageanddestiny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/speakers-1024x620.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4948\"\/><figcaption><em><strong>Richard\n Edmonds with fellow speakers at the 2014 John Tyndall Memorial Meeting \n(back left to right) Jez Turner, H&amp;D editor Mark Cotterill, Simon \nSheppard and Ken Shapcott; (front left to right) former MEP Andrew \nBrons, Richard Edmonds, Keith Axon, Jim Lewthwaite, H&amp;D assistant \neditor Peter Rushton and Alex Davies.<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard was unusual in combining active historical revisionism with \ntireless electoral activism: first with the NF, then with the BNP, then \nback with the NF during the past decade, when he again served on the \nDirectorate. Despite the ever-changing fortunes of nationalist parties, \nRichard was always prepared to travel to support branch activists, \nwhether their meeting numbered a dozen or several hundred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the 1992 General Election, Richard achieved the BNP\u2019s best result \nthat year \u2013 1,310 votes (3.6%) in Bethnal Green &amp; Stepney; while in \nOctober 1974 he polled 1,731 votes (4.5%) in Deptford. It was in Clifton\n Rise, Deptford, that NF marchers assembled for what became known as the\n Battle of Lewisham on 13th August 1977.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the NF\u2019s Lewisham organiser, Richard knew the stakes, telling the press that the party did not recognise any \u201cno go areas\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cClifton Rise is part of Britain, and we will march anywhere in \nBritain. This march is deliberately provocative. We are standing up for \nWhite people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard and the NF publicised an official police survey of street \ncrime in South London which showed that 80% of the attackers were Black,\n and 85% of the victims were White.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Had he lived, Richard would again have been a National Front \ncandidate at the Greater London Assembly elections, postponed from May \nthis year to May 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.heritageanddestiny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/dover-richard-edmonds.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5419\"\/><figcaption><em><strong>Richard Edmonds addresses the NF\u2019s anti-immigration demo in Dover, 2015<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018 \u2013 alongside Lady Mich\u00e8le Renouf and <em>H&amp;D<\/em> \nassistant editor Peter Rushton \u2013 Richard organised and spoke at a \nrevisionist conference in Shepperton, West London, which turned out to \nbe the final speech by the great revisionist scholar Prof. Robert \nFaurisson. Earlier that year he had been a scheduled guest speaker at \nthe February 2018 Dresden commemoration where Lady Renouf was arrested. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.heritageanddestiny.com\/text-of-richard-edmonds-speech-on-dresden-commemoration\/\" target=\"_blank\">The text of the speech he would have given that day was published by H&amp;D here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard paid tribute to Lady Renouf\u2019s courage in Dresden that day. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/modeltrial.blogspot.com\" target=\"_blank\">Following her victory over the German prosecutors a few weeks ago<\/a>, Richard wrote: \u201cBrilliant. You faced the music, Mich\u00e8le and you won. Wonderful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the 2019 NF Remembrance Day march to the Cenotaph, Richard \ncompleted a remarkable trek across Europe. Having spoken at a rally in \nGermany on the Saturday, he made it back to London in time to address \nthe NF\u2019s post-Cenotaph rally just off Whitehall the next day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.heritageanddestiny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Richard-Edmonds-at-Zundel-demo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9183\"\/><figcaption><strong><em>Richard\n Edmonds with megaphone addressing a demonstration outside the German \nEmbassy in London, calling for the release of jailed revisionist \npublisher Ernst Z\u00fcndel<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Very rarely for an Englishman, Richard was able to address a French \naudience in French and a German audience in German! In January 2020 he \nspoke in Vichy at the conference marking what would have been Prof. \nRobert Faurisson\u2019s 91st birthday, delivering the Robert Faurisson \nInternational Prize to exiled French scholar Vincent Reynouard, and he \nwas planning to record an update to his highly informative video made at\n the spot in Westminster where Zionist lobbyists plan to build a \ngigantic \u2018Holocaust memorial\u2019. Our commentary on this memorial (still \nbeing opposed at a planning enquiry) will continue Richard\u2019s work for \nposterity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day before his death, Richard completed translation of a Yuletide\n poem by the German patriot and attorney Wolfram Nahrath, renowned for \nhis defence of political clients including Monika Schaefer, Ursula \nHaverbeck, Horst Mahler, Bishop Richard Williamson and Lady Mich\u00e8le \nRenouf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here at <em>H&amp;D<\/em> we knew Richard Edmonds as a loyal friend \u2013 \nbut he was more than just a friend to us, he was a loyal friend of the \nBritish people and of the broader White cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We had a comrade, you will find no better.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>H&amp;D<\/em>\u2018s Issue 100 to be published in a fortnight\u2019s time will include a full obituary for our friend and comrade Richard Edmonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogue-sc.com\/2020\/01\/le-triomphe-ineluctable-du-revisionnisme\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.heritageanddestiny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Richard-and-Vincent-with-2020-prize-1024x539.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9185\"\/><\/a><figcaption><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogue-sc.com\/2020\/01\/le-triomphe-ineluctable-du-revisionnisme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Richard Edmonds presents the 2020 Robert Faurisson International Prize to exiled French revisionist Vincent Reynouard<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>German patriot and attorney Wolfram Nahrath writes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2018m terribly sad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a great experience to meet him, listen to him, talk to him, \nstanding with him in front of a German prison, where he gave his \nlegendary speech for the rights of freedom and free opinion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the name of my people, I have to thank him for his courage to raise his voice for us beaten and suppressed Germans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2018m glad having had him in my house as a very special guest. A clear \nmind in a gloomy and dangerous time for all the European People. His \nconstant demands to be awake, to look behind the ugly mask of the \ndestroyers of the variety of cultures and people (the Bishop blamed them\n as \u201cthe enemies of God\u201d), to learn about history in order to avoid any \nfurther wars in Europe and to stand together for a living future, now \nbecame an order of conscience for us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wherever a place for the braves might be: You\u2018ll meet him there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll march on, although your flag in life has to be pulled down now.\n Rest In Peace, Richard.
