Mamadou\n Ba, head of the Portuguese \u201canti-hate\u201d group SOS Racismo, spoke of the \nneed to \u201ckill the white man\u201d at a recent online conference on \u201chate \nspeech\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ba,\n a Portuguese citizen originally from Senegal, attended the conference \non Saturday which was on the topic of \u201cRacism and the Advancement of \nHate Speech in the World\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During\n the conference, which was attended by Portuguese speakers from Portugal\n and Brazil, Ba stated \u201cit is necessary to kill the white man, murderer,\n colonial, and racist\u201d to \u201cprevent the social death of the black \npolitical subject\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report<\/a> from Portuguese daily newspaper Correio da Manh\u00e3<\/em>,\n the statement was a quote from Algerian far-left anti-colonialist \npolitical philosopher Frantz Fanon, who openly advocated for violence \nduring the French rule of Algeria in his seminal work The Wretched of the Earth<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n newspaper states that it is not clear whether Ba was quoting the \nfar-left philosopher, but said it was presumed he did so in agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRefutation\n is part of the proposition, but what matters most to combat hate speech\n is to propose a new narrative,\u201d Ba said during the online meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier\n this year, the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), which is \npartnered with Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros\u2019s Open \nSociety Foundations, called for support<\/a> of SOS Rascimo, which it described as one of the \u201cfounding members\u201d of the ENAR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According\n to the ENAR, Ba and other activists had been sent threats online, and \nBa himself had received a letter with a bullet casing inside it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n incident is not the first controversial moment for a so-called \n\u201canti-hate\u201d group in Europe, many of which have direct ties to both Open\n Society Foundations and George Soros, such as Hope Not Hate in the UK \nwhich was identified in a Swedish military report<\/a> on far-left extremism in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Germany, the anti-hate Amadeau Antonio Stiftung, headed by former Stasi informant Anetta Kahane, sparked controversy<\/a> after releasing a guide for schools to spot \u201cNazi parents\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
