<\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n York Regional Police headquarters (FILE\/CITYNEWS) \n \n \n \n <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Police have charged a Grade 12 student in Markham after he \nallegedly made several anti-Black comments during an online class in \nApril.<\/p>\n\n\n\n York police say they received the report from a high school staff \nmember back on April 15 regarding hate-motivated comments made during \nclass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The student allegedly made the comments until the online session was forced to be shut down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Investigators were able to identify the student and on Sept. 17, they\n charged Tristan Stronach, 18, with indecent communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n York Region District School Board (YRDSB) confirmed the incident \noccurred during an online learning session at Bill Crothers Secondary \nSchool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n YRDSB said they are not be able to discuss specifics of the case or \nthose involved, but said they were \u201cgrateful to the York Regional Police\n for laying charges related to this incident of anti-Black racism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a statement, they added the incident deeply affected staff and \nstudents at the school and have been working to support and \u201cfurther \neducate them and the community about issues of equity and inclusivity in\n general and anti-Black racism in particular.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe know the actions of one individual are not reflective of our \nwhole school community and expect all our teaching and learning spaces \nto be ethical, safe, welcoming and inclusive,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The teen will appear in court on Dec. 8 in Markham.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" For Remarks Anti-White Political Police Charge High School Student for Remarks Critical of Blacks [Notice that this nothing-burger story doesn’t tell us what victim Tristan Stronach actually said, so that reasonable people might form their own conclusions.
