The cancel\nculture mob came for the creator of Harry Potter this past week, but\nJ.K. Rowling was ready. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, she has\nset a perfect example of what to do when besieged by the Gender\nIdeology Thought Police for \u201cwrongthink.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It started when\nshe tweeted the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\u2018People<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Rowling dared to lampoon a key tactic of the woke gender\nideologists, that of replacing the accurate, biological term \u201cwomen\u201d,\nwith clumsy, inaccurate, woke terminology: \u201cpeople who\nmenstruate\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This language ultimately nullifies the existence of women,\nand those who use it do not take kindly to mockery.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What happened next? Well, they attempted to \u201ccancel\u201d Rowling. She\nwas besieged with a torrent of denunciations, threats and abuse.\nShe was accused of \u201ctransphobia\u201d far and wide.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rowling responded with a long and articulate essay which eloquently\noutlines her deep concerns about the threats that transgender activism\nand gender ideology pose to the safety of actual girls and women.\nI recommend you read it in its entirety here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re all fortunate that J.K. Rowling is courageous enough to stand\nup to the mob, which is used to being able to silence anyone who won\u2019t\nconform to their ideas. Rowling warns:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHuge numbers of women are justifiably terrified by the\ntrans activists; I know this because so many have got in touch with me\nto tell their stories. They\u2019re afraid of doxing, of losing their jobs\nor their livelihoods, and of violence.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rowling knows, like I do, that eradicating the reality of\nbiological sex and the differences between men and women will only\ncreate danger for women and girls:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing\nrooms to any man who believes or feels he\u2019s a woman…then you open\nthe door to any and all men who wish to come inside. That is the\nsimple truth.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rowling recognizes, as I do, that the suddenly fashionable idea of\ntransgenderism is sweeping through society like a mania, and young\ngirls are being pushed toward processes that will irrevocably harm\nthem:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m concerned about the huge explosion in young women\nwishing to transition and also about the increasing numbers who seem\nto be detransitioning (returning to their original sex), because they\nregret taking steps that have, in some cases, altered their bodies\nirrevocably, and taken away their fertility.\u201d

H<\/strong>elp me continue to be a loud voice\nagainst the insanity of <\/strong>the woke gender\nideologists.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

J.K. Rowling\u2019s example of how to stand up to the organized pressure\nof the radical left is one we should emulate. She clearly expresses\nthe truth that the trend of radical left gender politics has\nsacrificed the rights of girls and women to security:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I refuse to bow down to a movement that I believe is doing\ndemonstrable harm in seeking to erode \u2018woman\u2019 as a political and\nbiological class and offering cover to predators like few before\nit.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Canada, we have our own problems with the onslaught of radical\nleft gender ideology. Bill C-16 has enshrined this notion, however\nvaguely defined, in Canadian law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The term \u201cwoman\u201d has to mean something. But not in\nCanada.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2017, Canada\u2019s Parliament passed Bill C-16, a bill that\namended the Canadian Human Rights Act and enshrined \u201cgender ideology\u201d\ninto Canadian law.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canada\u2019s C-16 effectively legislates that \u201cwoman\u201d means\nnothing. \u201cFemale women\u201d everywhere in Canada stand to suffer the\nconsequences of that.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will stand up for women and fight back against gender\nideology by repealing Bill C-16. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will also ban sex-changes for minors and vote against C-8, which\nwill imprison parents for attempting to help children accept the\nbodies with which they were born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biological sex is real. The differences between women and\nmen are real.

It\u2019s time we all declare it, very loudly.\n
