<\/figure>\n\n\n\n (Natural News<\/a>)\n To most Americans, the United Nations is an innocuous organization that\n serves as a global forum for countries to work out their differences \nwhile providing services like disaster relief, peacekeeping, health \ncare, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In reality, the U.N. is primarily staffed by representatives from \nauthoritarian regimes and elitists who seek to transform the \norganization into the central hub of a \u201cNew World Order\u201d and global \ngovernment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Part of that effort involves limiting the right of free speech in as \nmany countries as possible \u2014 especially in the United States, whose \nConstitution still serves as a model for empowering the individual over \ngovernment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And like the Left in America, U.N. officials are seeking to curb expression and the free exchange of ideas<\/a> by claiming to fight \u201chate speech.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n As reported by WND in July<\/a>,\n the U.N. began a \u2018crackdown\u2019 of sorts on \u201chate speech,\u201d but in doing so\n defined that term so broadly that literally any speech could be \nconsidered to be in violation depending on who was doing the evaluating,\n a political analyst noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The crackdown came in response to mostly Muslim countries that were \ndemanding anyone who is critical of Islam be punished, according to \nJudith Bergman, a lawyer and senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While the U.N. attempted to assure everyone that \u201caddressing hate \nspeech does not mean limiting or prohibiting freedom of speech,\u201d the \nfact is, Bergman notes, the organization\u2019s actions betrayed its words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis was evident with regard to the U.N. Global Compact on \nMigration, in which it was explicitly stated that public funding to \n\u2018media outlets that systematically promote intolerance, xenophobia, \nracism and other forms of discrimination towards migrants\u2019 should be \nstopped,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In fact, the U.N.\u2019s action plan against hate speech does contain a \ndefinition of what the organization considers to be \u201chate speech.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAny kind of communication in speech, writing or behavior, that \nattacks or uses pejorative or discriminatory language with reference to a\n person or a group on the basis of who they are, in other words, based \non their religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, color, descent, gender \nor other identity factor,\u201d the U.N. says \u2014 again, which is broad enough \nthat any<\/em> speech critical of any<\/em> protected class of persons or religions could be considered hateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a February speech to the U.N. Human Rights Council, \nSecretary-General Antonio Guterres provided more clues as to what his \norganization would consider to be \u2018hate speech.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said the rights<\/a>\n enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights \u201cbelong to \neveryone, everywhere. They are independent of nationality, gender, \nsexual orientation, race, religion, belief, or any other status.\u201d It \nshould be noted, however, that member states have never agreed that \n\u201csexual orientation\u201d is a protected category of nondiscrimination, HNewswire noted<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He added that he is alarmed by \u201ca groundswell of xenophobia, racism, \nand intolerance \u2014 including rising anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim \nhatred,\u201d and that \u201chate speech is a menace to democratic values, social \nstability, and peace.\u201d He also said hate speech \u201cspreads like wildfire \nthrough social media, the internet, and conspiracy theories.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n As usual, not a single one of the U.N.\u2019s authoritarian Leftists \nspeaks out about hateful speech directed at Christians, Jews, Asians, or\n members of other religions \u2014 always just Muslims<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This comes as Muslim followers continue to commit acts of terrorism \nand violence against non-Muslims but also against some of their own \nfollowers \u2014 though we\u2019re not allowed to point that fact out because it\u2019s\n hateful<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The U.N. is not a global government. It was never intended as such. \nIt wasn\u2019t even originally intended to become a global charity \norganization or peacekeeping entity.
