My 65 years as a free writer—and censorship<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

How would you like to be thinking this?\u00a0 “I’m a censor.\u00a0 I spend my waking hours keeping people from writing and speaking, by cutting off their access to the public.\u00a0 That’s my job and I love it.\u00a0 I love the feeling of shutting someone down…”<\/p>\n

I picked up a pen and started writing when I was 16, in 1954.\u00a0 I knew I had struck gold.\u00a0 WRITING. \u00a0 Freedom.\u00a0\u00a0 Words.\u00a0\u00a0 Sentences.\u00a0 Poetry.\u00a0 Images.\u00a0 Ideas.\u00a0 This was my universe.\u00a0 It wasn’t run by some tin-pot teacher or official.\u00a0 I could keep making worlds.\u00a0 What could be better?<\/p>\n

I’ve never changed my mind about that.\u00a0 So when someone tells me—or a faceless company tells me—that I’m censored, I don’t take to it kindly.\u00a0 And I immediately know the faceless ones are rank filthy idiots. Or scrupulously clean robots.\u00a0 Either way, they’ve jumped species.\u00a0 Downward.<\/p>\n

Why did they censor me?\u00a0 Was it my articles about toxic vaccines, about freedom of the individual vs. the State, about the CIA, about Obama, about Trump, about political liars, about medical drugs killing millions of people?\u00a0 Lots to choose from.\u00a0 Who really cares what it was exactly?\u00a0 It was CENSORSHIP.<\/p>\n

I wasn’t laying out charts for building H-bombs.\u00a0 WordPress shut down my blog without notice or warning or explanation.\u00a0 However, I see no reason to stop writing.\u00a0 So I’m keeping on.\u00a0 I’ve got people employing “other means” to get the blog back up.\u00a0 Regardless, here I am.<\/p><\/div>\n

The real job of society is educating people so they are “immune” to other people’s views.\u00a0 What does that mean?\u00a0 This immunity, what is it?\u00a0 It’s the ability to understand and analyze someone else’s statements and make a decision about them.\u00a0 Agree or disagree.\u00a0 Accept one part, reject another part.\u00a0 The immunity consists of not impulsively buying what others are selling.<\/p>\n

In the 1950s, we had, in the US, a Red Scare. It consisted of Communist ideology.\u00a0 The question was, should students be allowed to read the Communist Manifesto, or should Marx’s pamphlet be burned and banned?\u00a0 The knee-jerk reaction was: ban the booklet.\u00a0 The minority opinion was: let students read it and understand it.\u00a0 But of course, the American school system hadn’t prepared pupils to analyze ANYTHING.<\/p>\n

So there was no solution.\u00a0 The whole Red Scare faded away eventually, as a “kinder, gentler” Leftist ideology spread through the country like ink on a blotter.<\/p>\n

EDUCATION SHOULD PREPARE PEOPLE TO MAKE UP THEIR OWN MINDS THROUGH THOUGHT AND LOGIC.<\/p>\n

Censorship is the coward’s way out.<\/p>\n

Censorship works when evil people accumulate enough power.\u00a0 This power CAN BE affected when a strong enough public reaction occurs.\u00a0 That’s called a clue.<\/p>\n

When I was 15, our history teacher was gone for two weeks.\u00a0 In strode a substitute.\u00a0 He basically said—“I’m going to use this time to teach you logic.\u00a0 I’m going to show you what a vague generalization is, so you can recognize it and not fall for it.\u00a0 I’m going to show you how to analyze what you read.\u00a0 This is WORK, class, but you’ll be glad you did it.\u00a0 So let’s dig in.”<\/p>\n

It took me about three minutes to see a light go on.\u00a0 It was very bright.\u00a0 I felt a surge of power.\u00a0 Nothing was ever the same after that.<\/p>\n

Years later, when I had my first encounter with censorship, I shrugged it off immediately.\u00a0 I was in possession of something much stronger.<\/p>\n
