Back in January,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/therealistreport.com\/french-holocaust-denier-jailed-for-anti-semitic-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>we reported that he was sentenced to a one year prison sentence<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for \u201cinciting anti-Semitism\u201d\u00a0by publishing critiques of Jews on his website. He has since faced other prosecutions for his intellectual activity, and even his defense lawyer has been fined by the French judicial system for simply defending the man in court.<\/p>\n<p>Soral explains in detail here:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/olpwxRmErC4?feature=oembed\" width=\"860\" height=\"484\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Jews have had this man in their crosshairs for years, and were hellbent on seeing him thrown behind bars for daring to question their fake \u201cHolocaust\u201d narrative and criticize them publicly.<\/p>\n<p>Now, they are practically apoplectic because a public prosecutor in Paris overturned a previous ruling sentencing Soral to a one year prison sentence.\u00a0<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2019\/05\/07\/french-jews-furious-as-notorious-antisemite-dodges-jail-time-for-holocaust-denial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong><em>The Algemeiner<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0reports:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5910\" src=\"http:\/\/therealistreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Alain-Soral-1.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1019px) 100vw, 1019px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/therealistreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Alain-Soral-1-420x101.png 420w, http:\/\/therealistreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Alain-Soral-1-768x184.png 768w, http:\/\/therealistreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Alain-Soral-1-600x144.png 600w, http:\/\/therealistreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Alain-Soral-1.png 1019w\" alt=\"Alain Soral\" width=\"1019\" height=\"244\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><u><strong>French Jews reacted with fury on Tuesday after the Paris public prosecutor overturned a historic decision reached last month to sentence one of the country\u2019s most notorious Holocaust deniers to a year in jail<\/strong><\/u>.<\/p>\n<p>Far-right activist Alain Soral \u2014 who has earned several previous convictions for hate speech and Holocaust denial without being incarcerated \u2014 had been sentenced to twelve months behind bars on Apr. 15, after he was found guilty of publishing an article that denied the Holocaust on his website,\u201c\u00c9galit\u00e9 et R\u00e9conciliation\u201d (\u201cEquality and Reconciliation\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>But on Tuesday,\u00a0<u><strong>the Paris public prosecutor\u2019s office overruled that decision<\/strong><\/u>, arguing that the court sentence had wrongly applied the criminal code and was unlawful.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the individuals and groups that hailed Soral\u2019s original sentencing as a sea-change in the approach of French courts to antisemitic agitation angrily denounced the decision to spare him from actual jail time.<\/p>\n<p>In an editorial published on the website of French Jewish communal organization CRIF, its president, Francis Kalifat, argued that the public prosecutor\u2019s decision required \u201can explanation of the inexplicable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kalifat asserted that the rising climate of antisemitism in France and Soral\u2019s record as a repeat offender meant that a custodial sentence was both \u201clegitimate\u201d and \u201cnecessary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt does not depart from the canons or the principles of criminal justice; it is the illustration of it,\u201d Kalifat wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Both Soral and the antisemitic comedian with whom he partners, Dieudonn\u00e9 M\u2019bala M\u2019bala, were \u201cthe undisputed stars of this sinister market of hatred\u201d toward Jews, Kalifat said.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement published by the periodical Le Nouvel Observateur, four prominent anti-racist activists quipped darkly that Soral would now feel \u201cas happy as an antisemite in France.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The group, which included Sacha Ghozlan, president of the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF), argued that the belief that French law was being faithfully applied in Soral\u2019s case was effectively a surrender to his extremist views.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBelieving to protect the law, we end up protecting racists and antisemites from any effective punishment\u2026by organizing their impunity,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The statement noted that antisemites, racists and Holocaust deniers were rarely sentenced to prison in France, pointing out that Robert Faurisson \u2014 France\u2019s most outspoken Holocaust denier until his death last October \u2014 \u201cdied without having ever known a single day\u2019s imprisonment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Along with a severe increase in antisemitic hate speech on the internet and in many public locations, French Jews experienced a 74-percent rise in violent attacks during 2018, according to official government figures.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s nice reading some good news for a change!
