Dismiss the Complaint Against Bill Whatcott in BC<\/p>\n

TO: BC Human Rights Tribunal<\/p>\n

RE: Case# 16408 (Oger v. Whatcott)<\/p>\n

In the case of Oger v. Whatcott, I ask
\nthat the complaint against Mr. Whatcott be dismissed immediately.<\/p>\n

Mr. Whatcott freely admits producing
\nflyers that identify the complainant’s biological sex. He did this to
\nprovide the voting public with information about a public figure
\nrunning for public office. The public has a right to know about the
\nlives and backgrounds of those who are elected to represent them. This
\nis necessary for a free and open society to function.<\/p>\n

Mr. Whatcott’s further comments on
\ntransgenderism are based both in scientific fact and in his Christian
\nfaith. Science has shown that it is impossible to truly change one’s
\nbiological sex, and the Bible teaches it is sinful to try. The
\ncomplainant may be personally offended by these statements, but they
\nare a far cry from being an attack on anyone’s dignity, feelings,
\nreputation, or self-respect, as the complainant asserts.<\/p>\n

Mr. Whatcott produced his flyer not as
\nan act of hatred or hostility, but out of concern for the truth, for
\nGod’s Word, and for the complainant’s eternal soul.<\/p>\n

If an ordinary citizen is no longer free
\nto express his beliefs, opinions, and thoughts, especially when those
\nare well-grounded in science and Christian tradition, then our society
\nis no longer truly free. Our human rights code must never be used as
\nan instrument of suppression, but rather as a force for freedom and
\nliberation for all.<\/p>\n

I have been following the “hate crimes trial”
\nof Bill Whatcott since the summer. This Christian activist from
\nAlberta was charged with the “willful promotion of hatred” against
\n“gays” – a very serious offence that could land him in prison for two
\nyears.<\/p>\n

Bill was charged because he had the courage to
\npeacefully pass out some flyers during a “gay pride” parade in Toronto
\nback in 2016. Those flyers warned about the health hazards of
\nhomosexuality and presented a Gospel message of hope for those who
\nrepent and turn to Christ. There was absolutely no hatred in his
\nmessaging – and he was certainly not calling on anyone to hurt, harm,
\nor harass LGBT practitioners.<\/p>\n

Bill’s hate crimes trial is set to continue in
\nOntario in the new year. (You can read more about it on our petition
\npage).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, all the way across the country in
\nBritish Columbia, Bill Whatcott is facing another frivolous legal
\nbattle. This week, from Tuesday to Friday, Bill will be appearing
\nbefore the BC Human Rights Tribunal in order to face a complaint
\nbrought by a person who goes by the name of Ms. Morgane Oger.<\/p>\n

Ms. Morgane is actually a Mr. – he is a
\nbiological male who was once married and has even fathered children.
\nHe also happens to be the vice-president of the BC NDP – which gives
\nhim a certain political clout.<\/p>\n

When Mr. Oger was running in the recent
\nelection, Bill put together some pamphlets to advise BC citizens of
\nMr. Oger’s deceptive lifestyle. They rightfully informed otherwise
\nunknowing voters that this individual on the ballot is presenting
\nhimself falsely. They also shared the Biblical and scientific truth of
\nour human gender identity: God created us male and female – and it is
\nimpossible to switch from one sex to the other.<\/p>\n

Whether one agrees or disagrees with
\ntransgenderism and its underlying “gender theory”, we cannot allow the
\nBC Human Rights Tribunal to close all debate on the subject. It is not
\nup to this quasi-judicial body to decide which groups of people do and
\ndo not enjoy freedom of expression and religion. We ALL have the right
\nto share our sincerely-held beliefs – whether other people like it or
\nnot. Without that right, we are no longer a democracy but a
\ndictatorship!<\/p>\n
