LifeSiteNews Fri Sep 18, 2026 – 3:15 pm EDT<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n (LifeSiteNews<\/a>) \u2014 Christian pro-family activist Bill Whatcott was found guilty of \u201cHate\u201d against gay men by a Canadian court over flyers that he distributed during a Toronto pride event a decade ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While the court\u2019s ruling has not yet been published, according to a report<\/a> by the Toronto Star<\/em>, Superior Court Justice Anne Molloy rejected Whatcott\u2019s explanation that he is motivated by his Christian faith to evangelize those who face \u201ceternal peril\u201d if they do not repent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Molloy reportedly said that the flyers go beyond \u201cdistaste, dislike, or merely being offensive. It is intense and extreme. It is hatred.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLooking at the whole picture, Mr. Whatcott, by his actions, has demonstrated a deep animus towards members of the gay community, notwithstanding his testimony that he wants only to save their souls by having them repent their sins. He is far from a simple Christian missionary seeking to convert sinners. He is an activist and an attention seeker. He loves the spectacle of what he did. He enjoyed the attention and he continues to do so,\u201d wrote Judge Molloy, according to the Sun<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMany of the things included in his flyer standing alone are merely offensive and would not amount to hate. However, the combined effect of the whole flyer, the length to which Mr. Whatcott went to deliver his \u2018message,\u2019 the range of people he gave it to and his gloating after the fact all support my ultimate finding that his intention in handing out the flyers at the parade was to vilify gay men. He knew that would be the effect of his actions\u201d the judge said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNatural law is clear, homosexuality is incompatible with human nature. Disease, death and confusion are the sad and sordid realities of the homosexual lifestyle,\u201d one of Whatcott\u2019s flyers said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In another flyer, Whatcott urged recipients to call or email him \u201cif you are tired of your sin and want to come to your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and receive the free gift of eternal life.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s utterly remarkable how far \u2018progressive\u2019 authorities and fanatical LGBTQ activists in Canada have gone to persecute conservative Christian advocate Bill Whatcott. Ten years ago, Bill led a group of dressed-up \u2018zombies\u2019 into Toronto\u2019s (perverse, nudity-filled) \u2018gay pride\u2019 parade and passed out gospel tracts masquerading as condom packages,\u201d fellow activist Peter LaBarbera said<\/a> on X of the judge\u2019s ruling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIn a \u2018retrial\u2019 after previously being found innocent (hello, double jeopardy!), Ontario\u2019s highest court found Bill guilty of \u2018willfully promoting hatred\u2019 against homosexuals,\u201d LaBarbera continued. \u201cI know Bill: he may be unorthodox, but does not hate people caught up in homosexuality. Rather, he desires to minister to them by sharing the life-changing Truth of Jesus Christ.
