Yesterday, the AP reported what no one was expecting from the Trump Administration: Southern Poverty Law Center Charged With Defrauding Donors With Payments To Extremist Informants,<\/a><\/em> <\/a>AP, April 21, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 The Southern Poverty Law Center was indicted Tuesday on federal fraud charges alleging it improperly raised millions of dollars to secretly pay leaders of the Ku Klux Klan and other hate groups for inside information, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Justice Department alleges the civil rights group defrauded donors by using their money to fund the very extremism it claimed to be fighting, with more than $3 million paid to informants through a now-defunct program to infiltrate white supremacist and other extremist groups. Prosecutors allege some of the money was used by extremists to carry out other crimes, but court papers did not include specific examples.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Banking expert Patrick McKenzie pointed out on Twitter that Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) laws make it illegal to lie to your bank about what you\u2019re doing with your money, e. g. saying \u201cWe\u2019re totally not using this to pay undercover informants\u201d etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He adds an image of the SPLC\u2019s banking information being used in the the indictment and says<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is extremely common prosecutorial practice; the only surprising part is the defendant. (About which, doubtless your opinion journal of choice will have some column inches fairly soon.)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

And here we are!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A search of VDARE.com archives <\/a>says that I\u2019ve been writing about the Southern Poverty Law Center for <\/a>twenty-five years<\/a>\u2014<\/em>and I\u2019m not the only one.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They, of course, spent a lot of time writing about VDARE.com, and to a certain extent, me personally. It\u2019s arguable that their attacks on VDARE.com inspired Letitia James\u2019s persecution of VDARE.com, causing me to lose my job:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2001, the SPLC was calling VDARE an \u201cAnti-Immigration\u201d<\/a> group, and trying to say we were guilty by association with writers they\u2019d already <\/em>condemned, and in 2004, they either upgraded or downgraded us to \u201cHate Group\u201d, based apparently <\/a>on a fairly mild speech<\/a> VDARE editor Peter Brimelow gave to a Chronicles<\/a><\/em> <\/a>conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have to realize that VDARE was basically a journalistic enterprise, like National Review, Chronicles, Mother Jones, <\/em>or The New Republic. <\/em>It\u2019s not about street-fighting, agitation, demonstrations or even, despite our writing on politics, political activism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s about reporting facts, and analysis, which is what I do now, but the SPLC didn\u2019t like <\/em>the analysis, or for that matter even the facts, which is why they would attack people who read, quoted, or forwarded things we wrote. People attacked for reading us by the SPLC included the Center For Immigration Studies, <\/a>and Trump advisor Stephen Miller.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2017, they attacked <\/a>something I had written in the article below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The picture above is of mentally-challenged white teenager kidnapped and tortured on Facebook Live, by blacks who yelled \u201cF\u2014 Trump!\u201d and \u201cF\u2014 white people!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have to understand that \u201cF\u2014 Trump!\u201d and \u201cF\u2014 white people!\u201d is the ideology of, very specifically, the Southern Poverty Law Center\u2026and their Black Lives Matter allies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s them denying that and attacking me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The false narrative of an epidemic of so-called \u201cblack-on-white crime\u201d has long been one of the most effective deceptions in white nationalist<\/a> propaganda, playing directly into an idea of besieged white populace while also attacking the press for censoring the \u201creal facts.\u201d\u2026.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

VDARE, another pseudo-intellectual white nationalist outlet more narrowly focused on immigration policy, was happy to promote the #BLMKidnapping narrative<\/a> anyway, despite its ideological divorce with Cernovich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA young white man was kidnapped by four blacks, inspired by Black Lives Matter propaganda, and anti-white, anti-Trump hate, the hate that comes from black leaders, the mainstream media, the Democratic Party\u2026and the White House,\u201d wrote James Fulford, a columnist at VDARE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a bizarre twist, Fulford voluntarily introduced Dylann Roof as an attempt to point out hypocrisy from the left while bemoaning the widespread removal of the Confederate battle flags around the South after photos surfaced of Roof with one in the wake of the shooting. The connection was analogous to him.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

It certainly was. This post of theirs contained an actual link to my January 2017 post Black Lives Matter Inspired Kidnap\/Torture Of White Man Getting \u201cMan Arrested\u201d Treatment<\/a>, <\/em>so possibly their readers could have judged for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the point is that Roof committed a mass murder of random innocent blacks allegedly because he\u2019d been told about massive black-on-white crime, which is not a \u201cfalse narrative\u201d but simple fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SPLC specifically blamed the people<\/a> who\u2019d posted these facts online, while calling black-on-white crime a \u201clie\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A would never defend Dylann Roof\u2019s shooting innocent black people in a church, but there are many, many, <\/em>people, including the SPLC<\/a>, who are very understanding of, and supportive <\/a>of, black-on-white violence. Here\u2019s what I said in my 2017 post:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buzzfeed is not promoting this as a black crime, but they noticed it was a black crime in order attempt to exonerate the Black Lives Matter movement:<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

To Hell with your \u201cZero Evidence\u201d\u2014were the riots <\/a>and the shooting of police<\/a> also not inspired by BLM?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No one ever asks for \u201cevidence\u201d in the rare white hate crimes. Dylann Roof was part of no \u201cmovement\u201d, but they tore down Confederate flags all over the South because of his crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next time a \u201cBlack Lives Matter\u201d spokesman makes a public appearance, the MSM should ask him to condemn this\u2014but they won\u2019t.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

It would be nice to think that the criminal prosecution will inspire people to refuse to associate with the SPLC, but that\u2019s a long way to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In any event, the fact that the FBI director Kash Patel was recently smeared as a drunkard by the Atlantic <\/em>inspired me to Tweet this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
