Maxime Bernier Sets Penticton Audience on Fire: “When Tyranny Takes Control, Revolution is a Necessity!”

Maxime Bernier Sets Penticton Audience on Fire: “When Tyranny Takes Control, Revolution is a Necessity!”

Penticton, British Columbia, September 5, 2021.A confident Maxime Bernier wowed an enthusiastic rally of over 300 people today at Penticton’s Gyro Park. The People’s Party  of Canada founder and leader called for a freedom revolution by Canada’s Dispossessed Majority: ” “When Tyranny Takes Control, Revolution is a Necessity! … Our goal is to unite all Canadians under the freedom banner,” he added.
I want to live in a country described by former Prime Minister John Diefenbaker. “I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. “
Mr. Bernier, the first federal leader to visit the Okanagan this election cycle took aim at Prime Minister Justin Tudeau: “Justin Trudeau is the most divisive prime minister in Canadian history. “He has divided us by race, by religion and now by vaccination status,” he said to enthusiastic applause. Many of his supporters held anti-forced vaccination signs and were veterans of END THE LOCKDOWN rallies over the past 18 months in Kelowna and Penticton.
Mr. Bernier is the only federal leader dissenting from the COVID-hysteria and  freedom sapping policies many politicians have imposed. “This virus only endangers those elderly people with several co-morbidities,” he argued. There should be no forced masking, no imposed vaccines and no more lockdowns, he said to prolonged applause. It’s time to develop and made-in-Canada health policy, to defund the World Health Organization (WHO) and fire “that Theresa”(Tam) woman.

“The People’s Party of Canada will fight for Canadians regardless of their race or sex or vaccination status,” he promised.”We want our country back. It’s all about government control versus individual freedom.”
He said that last week, the mainstream media, which usually ignores him and the People’s Party, called to see if he would condemn protesters, many from the END THE LOCKDOWN movement, which picked Justin Trudeau’s meetings in Bolton and Cambridge, Ontario. “I told them, no. I am the only leader not condemning them. I am encouraging them to speak out for freedom.”

Mr. Bernier  noted the bias of much of the media and the discriminatory exclusion from this week’s leadership debates. He urged supporters to spread the word about the party and its platform on the social media: “Be active on the social media,” he urged, “as most of the mainstream media will not be covering us.”

Maxime Bernier  assailed promises by both Justin Trudeau and Conservative leader Erin O’Toole to balance the budget in the distant future, without cuts by magic. This is impossible, he scoffed. The People’sParty is not afraid to cut programmes, he said, for instance: “cut foreign aid by $5-billion and keep the money in Canada; cut corporate welfare — no more handouts to Bombardier and General Motors — by $10-billion; cut the $1.5-billion that funds the CBC.” The crowd exploded with cheers at these proposed cuts.

The People’s Party of Canada local candidates —  Sean Taylor for South Okanagan-West Kootenay and Kathryn McDonald for Central Okanagan—Similkameen—Nicola — were introduced and distributed literature and lawn signs to eager volunteers.Maxime Bernier stayed for almost an hour afterwards posing for photos with well wishers and answering questions. He then headed up the  road to Kelowna for a mid-afternoon rally that attracted about 400 people.

Paul Fromm, Director of the Canadian Association for Free Expression, commented: “I’ve been attending political rallies since 1965 and this is the first one that ever started on time. Kudos to Maxime Bernier and the local organizers. ” — Paul  Fromm

Let Max Speak

Let Max Speak

Five Globalists will shoot the shit in next week’s controlled “leaders’ debate. The only nationalist, pro-freedom candidate Maxime Bernier is excluded. The PPC is now consistently polling ahead of the Green Party, & has candidates in over 90% of ridings; Greens in less than 75%.

Next week, Party Leaders will descend on the National Capital Region to take part in the Federal Leaders’ Debates organized by a government-appointed agency.

All except one.

As you are probably already aware, PPC Leader Maxime Bernier was unjustly excluded from these debates.

The PPC is now consistently polling ahead of the Green Party, and has candidates in over 90% of ridings across the country while the Greens have candidates in less than 75% of ridings.

Why is Annamie Paul included while Maxime Bernier is left out?

Because the Green Party does not disrupt the mainstream narrative! The establishment knows that if Max is given a credible platform, his message will resonate with average Canadians, and the narrative will crumble.

We will not stand by while the establishment elites in the government and media try to silence us.

We will be gathering outside the venue on Thursday, September 9th to show our support for Max and the PPC and demonstrate that we will not be ignored!

Calling on the Euro-Canadian Movement: Join the PPC and Advance White Identity in Canada

Calling on the Euro-Canadian Movement: Join the PPC and Advance White Identity in Canada

by Riley Donovan

The goal of our movement is to ignite white identity across the country, with the ultimate objective of preserving as much of the remaining European Canada as we can. To achieve this, we have many possible strategies at our disposal, ranging from simple acts like mailing flyers and putting up posters to more complex ones such as organizing small protests. Underground activism is crucially important and must be pursued with unrelenting vigour. Political activism, however, is often overlooked. A right-wing populist-nationalist party, despite not explicitly advocating for the interests of white Canadians, is an excellent avenue for this type of activism.

Maxime Bernier’s People’s Party is the single largest collection of angry old stock Canadians in decades. Enraged by hate speech laws, climate alarmism, vaccine mandates, excessive taxation, political correctness, the sale of Canadian land and resources to proxies of the Chinese state, anti-white teaching in public schools and universities, and massive unrelenting non-European immigration, they have gone off the reservation and thrown their support behind the one candidate who dares oppose the political and media establishment.

Bernier has many problems, all of which I will admit freely. His fanatical libertarian religious belief in the free market leads him to endorse policies that are damaging to his own political prospects at present, and even to the country if he gets back into Parliament. His attack on the “milk and dairy cartel”, despite dairy producers making up a significant portion of his own riding of Beauce (Quebec), was incredibly poorly thought out. Deeper than this, an unlimited free market rips apart tight-knit local communities and reduces Man to a mere economic unit. It’s the opposite of conservatism. And then there’s his habit of calling the Left the “real racists” and Trudeau a “fascist”, which reveals either a misunderstanding of the current political situation, or an unwillingness to call our enemies honest descriptive names such as “globalist” or “anti-white”.

Bernier’s outlook has problems, but one of the marks of wisdom is the willingness to work with what you’ve got. We have to be wise. If this were the 80s or 90s, maybe we could afford to waste decades waiting for a politician to come along and say all the things that the Council of European Canadians believes in the exact way we say them. But it’s 2021; our people are on track to become a minority within 10-15 years and the federal government is preparing hate speech laws to target us. Now is the time for serious action, not pointless daydreaming.

Patriotic Canadians are beginning to wake up to a semblance of the reality that we at the CEC have known for years. They realize that Trudeau’s regime isn’t just “goofy” or “too politically correct”; it is seeking to eradicate the Canada we grew up with. Protesters have been chasing Trudeau across the country and crashing his campaign stops. In Bolton, Ontario, 200 protesters forced the prime minister to cancel a rally when his Liberal supporters were outnumbered by the protesters. In another embarrassing turn of events, he ventured into a neighbourhood and was pursued down the street by angry citizens yelling obscenities. In Cambridge, Trudeau was forced by protesters to delay his speech; when it did start, his voice was nearly drowned out by honking horns and yells.

One of 200 anti-Trudeau protesters in Bolton, Ontario
Erin O’Toole denounced the protesters, saying they had gone too far. Bernier, on the other hand, was sympathetic: “Trudeau spent the last six years telling Canadians many of them were racists and white supremacists. And now he can’t understand why some are yelling back obscenities at him?”. Bernier is right. Although the media is right that much of the anti-Trudeau protesting is based on opposition to vaccine mandates and lockdowns, the extent is being exaggerated. There is an obvious undercurrent of general anti-Trudeau sentiment in the conservative countryside, and a significant aspect of it is a vaguely expressed but genuinely felt notion that Trudeau is tearing down our national identity.

We can help crystallize this notion. There is palpable anger in our country right now, but it is only partially formed; the rage of Canadians who can sense that things are going extremely wrong, and that Trudeau has something to do with it. People are beginning to realize that statue removals, the renaming of street and schools, influxes of Muslim refugees, and mass non-European immigration are all part of a program that will lead to the abrogation of who we are as a people. I call on all members of the European Canadian movement to join the People’s Party and inform our fellow citizens about what’s really going on.

The clearest immediate benefit of this to expand the numbers of readers, writers, and donors in our movement. Joining your local People’s Party club or committee will put you in direct contact with freethinking Canadians willing to challenge the orthodoxies of the day. Once informed about the true nature of the mass immigration agenda, how it is reducing white Canadians to a minority in the service of radical leftist ideologues, banks, and massive corporations, most will recognize this as a bad thing that has to be fought. They will be extremely glad to hear about eurocanadian.ca, since freethinkers in this time of mainstream media misinformation are always looking for websites that don’t push a globalist establishment agenda. They will be overjoyed and astonished to hear about dissident academic Ricardo Duchesne and the books that he has written about Canada and the West. Furthermore, to redpill one person is to redpill dozens, through the chain effect of all the family and friends they will pass this information on to.

Cambridge, Ontario, Trudeau Welcoming Committee
This is not to mention the possibility that we actually end up electing one or two People’s Party candidates (not necessarily Bernier) in rural ridings in this or future elections. If this happens, we may well have a nationalist voice in Parliament. Candidate Chelsea Hillier, PPC candidate for Elgin-Middlesex-London, ran a great ad showing videos of statues being toppled, declaring that Canada is experiencing a “systematic destruction of our cultural identity” and filmed a statement with a Red Ensign on the wall behind her desk. Imagine if we got her, or a similar candidate, into Parliament. The Overton Window would be pushed further as Canadians watch the mainstream media and political leaders viciously denounce the private member’s bills she would introduce to restrict immigration and protect statues.

The People’s Party has the potential to become a nationalist party with candidates in many rural ridings advocating implicit white identity politics in Parliament, with a strong CEC contingent in every local committee continuously redpilling new party members. With any luck, implicit white identity could spread to local politics in small towns, where mayoral candidates could win based on cultural and social conservatism. Of course, this would only be the political strategy of the CEC; our strategies of underground activism currently being pursued anonymously by members in their own communities must remain our strongest focus. To sacrifice the opportunities offered to us by this new political party, however, would be a great misfortune.

Meme magic?
I was recently walking through Richmond, Vancouver, and for block after block I saw nothing but Chinese signs and Asian restaurants and stores. Asian immigrants have entirely replaced the population of this area. A great Greek philosopher once said there is no loss like the loss of one’s homeland. I felt that loss deeply as I walked through this sprawling Chinese colony on Canadian soil. We all feel this loss. If you live in a big city, you might feel it daily. If you live in a small town, you probably feel it when you go to spots you used to love in big cities that have been ethnically, culturally, and linguistically transformed beyond recognition.

The answer to this is not to despair or discard practical strategy, but rather to acknowledge the severity of the situation and fight back. It won’t be a particularly glamorous fight, or even a dramatic one, but through a long slog we can wake Canadians up to the war being waged against their heritage. We can preserve European Canada in large swathes of the rural regions and form local organizations dedicated to the advancement of our culture. We can fight back against “rural immigration programs” and anti-white curriculums in public schools. The fact that the globalist establishment is implementing hate speech legislation and internet censorship show that the fight is not lost. They fear us telling the truth to Canadians. And they should.

PRESS RELEASELabour Day Fraser Valley Rally with Max Bernier
ABBOTSFORD, BC – The Fraser Valley PPC EDA is pleased to host the leader of the People’s Party of Canada, Maxime Bernier, at the Fraser Valley Rally.

The rally will take place between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm at the Rotary Stadium in Abbotsford on Saturday, September 4, 2021.The event will include several candidates from as far east as Hope, as far north as Lillooet, and as far west as the GVRD.

It is time to make a stand against the outrageous totalitarian behaviour that the other parties and governments continue to illegally press on the citizens of Canada. “We are citizens with a mosaic and thriving Canadian identity, persons and peoples of all beliefs, lifestyles, and perspectives, who stand united under the longstanding Canadian values of freedom, respect, fairness, and responsibility,” said Timothy Knight, acting CEO, Fraser Valley PPC EDA.

The number one issue in front of Canadians is the government’s totalitarian response to COVID-19.The standard approach to pandemic management had always been to protect the vulnerable and allow the rest of the healthy population to go about their regular lives while building herd immunity. Lockdowns of entire populations were never part of any pre-covid pandemic planning.
Max Bernier commits, “We will repeal vaccine mandates! We will repeal vaccine passports!”

NOT VERY DEMOCRATIC: Five Globalists Will Be Chatting Among Themselves; Maxime Bernier, the Sole Nationalist, Excluded from Leader’s Debate
People’s Party of Canada (PPC) leader Maxime Bernier has officially kicked off his “Mad Max Election 2021 Tour.”

With the election just four weeks away, Maxime will be crisscrossing the country to raise awareness about his party and spread his campaign message that “all the other options suck” to Canadians who have grown tired of the rhetoric and empty promises from the establishment parties.  Earlier this week, I was in Oshawa, Ontario, for one campaign stop that drew over 200 people eager to meet local PPC candidates and hear Maxime speak.  Maxime’s party is currently ahead of the Green Party and neck-and-neck with the Bloc Quebecois, leaving some supporters optimistic that the PPC will finally get a foothold inside Parliament.  While I was at the event, I spoke with Maxime and some of his supporters about what makes the PPC different, what they expect in the weeks to come, and why the other party leaders refuse to speak to Rebel News.  Here’s what they had to say

Many PPC candidates did not or would not reflect on any specific policy in regards to their ridings. Instead, the event’s theme appeared to be pro-freedom and pro-individual autonomy and focused heavily on general federal policy.  Maxime himself championed open discussion while remarking to Rebel News that other party leaders are afraid to have a debate.  This Thursday, I had an in-depth interview with Maxime on my premium show, Andrew Says. That interview is available only to RebelNews+ subscribers.   A subscription is usually $8 per month, but you can access our premium content for FREE until the election — just use discount code “ELECTION” when you sign up. Click here to subscribe right now.

Yours truly,

Andrew Chapados

P.S. It was a nice change of pace to finally speak with a political leader who’s not afraid to answer our questions. As you may know, candidates from both the Liberal and Conservative parties have avoided our reporters at every opportunity during this campaign. But we will continue to go out into the field to ask them tough questions the mainstream media won’t. Peterborough police won’t ticket cast & crew of CBC show for handshakes, laughter

Peterborough police won’t ticket cast & crew of CBC show for handshakes, laughter

ds

We recently returned to the lovely little city of Peterborough, Ont., where the local constabulary take a very dim view of any sort of merriment in this day and age of COVID-19. You might recall our previous trip to Peterborough in April. We were there to cover an anti-lockdown protest staged at Confederation Square.

Shamefully, speakers such as PPC leader Maxime Bernier and Ontario MPP Randy Hillier were issued tickets by the Peterborough cops for… well, um, that’s a very good question. Last time we checked, freedom of speech and freedom of assembly were still enshrined rights in Canada — even during a pandemic. Heck, just ask the Peterborough police, whose members took a knee at this very same square last summer in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.

Yes, it’s all so very confusing, isn’t it?

And get this: several weeks after the Peterborough anti-lockdown event, I was served with a summons at my personal residence. Which is odd, given that I was not an organizer nor a speaker nor even an attendee. I was just there as a journalist covering the proceedings, and again, last time I checked, freedom of the press was still a thing in Canada — even during a pandemic.

But things went from odd to downright bat-shite surreal when I was later served disclosure, where the “evidence” of my crimes was duly noted. Which is to say, Staff Sgt. Dan Maclean noted that I had been spotted “shaking hands” and — wait for it — “laughing” on several occasions. Heck, Staff Sgt. Maclean even provided photographic evidence of my hand-shaking and laughing crimes against humanity. He even submitted my driving abstract.

Did you know, folks, that back in 1981 I was nabbed for doing 60 km/h in a 50 km/h zone? Oh, the humanity!

In any event, we thought we would drop by to check out the filming of a Murdoch Mysteries episode in Peterborough.

Alas, given that this is a CBC show, I’ve never seen a single episode, but I’m told that it takes place in Toronto in the 1890s. Ah, the 1890s! A time when shops were actually open in good ol’ Hogtown and a patron could enter such shops without having to don a face-diaper.

Anyway, we have it on good authority that the script called for some of the actors to actually shake hands. And laugh. And we certainly saw outbursts of laughter by the crew members on site — along with a few raised middle fingers aimed at me and my cameraman, Syd. All of which is very odd, given that Murdoch Mysteries is a CBC production, which means Syd and I and millions of other Canadians are involuntarily funding this show via our tax dollars. So, when you think of it, we are actually stakeholders, not interlopers. But I digress…

In any event, we felt it was our civic duty to reimagine ourselves as a couple of COVID-Karens and rat out this production to the cops. I mean, hand-shaking? Laughing? That’s super-spreader stuff according to the Peterborough Police Service, isn’t it?

But alas, the Peterborough cops would not come to the set to issue tickets or even investigate. Gee, maybe they’re fans of Murdoch Mysteries? It is a show about law enforcement, after all…

Bottom line: yet again, when it comes to COVID crimes, it would appear that it is one law for thee, one law for me.

Golly, just where is Detective William Murdoch of the Toronto Constabulary when you really need him?

Loss of Freedoms & Canada’s End the Lockdown Movement

Loss of Freedoms & Canada’s End the Lockdown Movement

[On May 17, the Globe and Mail published an opinion piece co-authored by Bernie Farber smearing the END THE LOCKDOWN rallies. For several days, I sought to reach the editor and Opinion Page editor of the Globe. They are unreachable by phone.  I sent an e-mail proposing a rebuttal piece. I got no answer. I submitted a response which forms part of the article below. I received no answer. The Globe happily publishes smears by one of Canada’s most notorious opponents of free speech, but permits no reply. Here is the Farber hatchet job: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-the-overlap-between-lockdown-agitators-and-hate-groups-is-a-threat-to/]

Since mid-March, 2020, End the Lockdown rallies have been a regular weekly occurrence in cities across Canada. At first, most of the press ignored them or dismissed them, as Ontario’s Premier Doug Ford did, a “a bunch of yahoos.” However, their staying and spread across the Dominion have made them impossible to ignore.

So, many in the elite have changed their tune.

Calgary’s mayor Naheed Nenshi is a Moslem who alleges that the End The Lockdown Movement is a vast rightwing conspiracy. “They are people who are marching in thinly veiled white nationalist supremacist anti-government protests,” he said. His accusations were echoed by Jagmeet Singh, he of the rainbow coloured collection of turbans, the $2,000 suits, the BMW Coup, hailed by BuzzFeed  as the “most stylish politician in Canada”. He is a supporter of the radical Sikh Khalistan movement and, in 2013, was banned from India. He heads the socialist New Democratic Party in the Dominion Parliament. Recently Singh said the protests are part of “extreme right-wing ideology.” He complained “To brazenly not follow public-health guidelines puts people at risk and that is something that we’ve seen with extreme right-wing ideology, ”

And Bernie Farber, long one of Canada’s fiercest opponents of free speech weighed in. Writing in the Globe and Mail (May 17, 2021)he alleged: “The principal actors of the anti-lockdown movement have either been or rubbed elbows with some significant haters on the scene. Vancouver neo-Nazi Brian Ruhe, Quebec’s far-right conspiracy streamer Alexis Cossette-Trudel, a big name among France’s QAnon following, is an important mouthpiece of the francophone anti-lockdown movement. Neo-Nazi Paul Fromm is a fixture at rallies in both Ontario and in Kelowna, B.C. Antimask activist Chris Saccoccia’s social-media feeds feature Holocaust denial and racist posts.” Farber was for years the CEO of the Canadian Jewish Congress, whose lobbying brought about Canada’s notorious Sec. 319 of the Criminal Code, the “hate law”. Farber lobbied mightily to have me fired from my 25-year teaching position as an English instructor in Peel County. He now heads the Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN), funded by federal government grants and a huge donation from the Bank of Montreal.

The CAHN tosses around the smear “neo-Nazi” promiscuously. Farber’s fellow board member at the Canadian Anti-Hate Network Evan Balgord elaborated on the conspiracy theory: “We have two pandemics: We have the actual pandemic and then we have this pandemic of hate.Things are kind of getting worse both online and offline … with maybe one pandemic, we have kind of a solution for, but the hate thing, we don’t have a vaccine for that.” The Toronto Star (May 10, 2021) quoted Balgord: “Balgord said such events make for ‘fertile hunting’ for new recruits because hateful ideas are not being policed, and once someone believes in one conspiracy theory, it’s easy to believe in others. ‘We now have a greatly increased number of people who are coming into close contact with racists and bigots of all stripes with more conspiracy theories.'” he said.

As early as last December, Canada’s censorship lobby was sounding the alarm. The Kelowna Courier (December 18, 2020) reported: “Anti-mask and anti-lockdown rallies in Kelowna have caught the attention of anti-hate groups across Canada because of what they say are ties to a known Canadian white supremacist. According to Elizabeth Simons, deputy director of the Canadian Anti-Hate Network, the presence of Paul Fromm at several local rallies dating back to the spring, and his association with rally organizer David Kevin Lindsay, are troubling.

Fromm has been described by anti-hate groups as a known neo-Nazi. According to Simonds, far-right and white-nationalist groups and supporters are directly involved in organizing many similar rallies across Canada. ‘It’s hugely concerning seeing this trend right across the country,’ she said.”

Jewish lobby groups have, in the past, been adept at “divide and conquer”, decreeing who may associate with whom or meet with whom without being tainted.

However, with Canada’s End the Lockdown movement, the old tactic is just not working. That’s because of the nature of the movement, as I shall explain. If the End the Lockdown movement is not a vast rightwing conspiracy, then what is it? As they say on the dating sites: “It’s complicated.”

On  May 17, the Globe ran an opinion piece by Bernie Farber and David Fisman entitled “Overlap between lockdown agitators and hate groups is a threat to us all” which caricatured the END THE LOCKDOWN rallies that have occurred on a weekly across the Dominion.

A reader, uninformed by information available on the Internet or his own experience at a local rally, might conclude these rallies comprised people strutting around in funny armbands or earnest conspiracy weirdos with tinfoil hats. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Attend one of these rallies and, although the attendees are angry at the job killing lockdowns, and  the loss of freedom to gather to worship, you find a happy atmosphere, reminiscent of a 60s love-in. Far from being a “hate group”, these rallies are joyous events, often with people dancing to boom box music and songs like Twisted Sister’s “We’re not gonna take it anymore” or Rolling Stones Mick Jagger’s new anti-lockdown song “Easy Sleazy”. No one wears a mask — well, occasionally, some wit wears one of those mediaeval doctor’s masks that looks like a bird’s beak. People embrace and hug complete strangers. Everyone is welcome. Indeed, one of the groups participating in many rallies is called Hugs Over Masks. In Toronto, a Chinese lady circulates through the crowd offering a tray of her home-baked treats free to fellow “freedom fighters.” Sadly, this elegant lady, in high heels and a fashionable dress,  was handcuffed and arrested on May 8 for being in possession of a megaphone.

The END THE LOCKDOWN rallies are a political protestof a sort unseen since World War II. They started in Vancouver in mid-March 2020 The next weekend, they spread to Toronto. Those calling for an end to the crippling lockdown were sniffily dismissed by Premier Ford as “a bunch of yahoos”. Ironically, many of these people had been part of his populist “Ford Nation.”

Since then, the rallies have spread right across the country. The remarkable fact about these protests is their regularity and consistency. They occur weekly in cities large and small. Movements in the past have staged mass rallies but not weekly and not right across the country. In the late ’60s, the left organized large anti-war demonstrations in major cities opposing the war in Vietnam twice a year. Similarly, in the mid-80s, the left staged large demonstrations against President Reagan’s star wars programme. Although these demonstrations were large, they were not weekly. Other groups have organized large protests but only on occasion like Right to Life’s annual pro-life rally in Ottawa  and demonstrations against specific legislation like more stringent gun control.

The consistency and persistence of the END THE LOCKDOWN rallies are remarkable and they have spread and become a weekly occurrence from Kelowna to Penticton to Kamloops to Calgary to Edmonton to Fort McMurray to Saskatoon to Brantford and many other places. These rallies are really like ’60s “happenings.” The word goes out, usually over the Internet and concerned people show up, often with little advance notice and usually with little media attention. For instance, on May  14, over an estimated 50,000 END THE LOCKDOWN supporters gathered in Queen’s Park and heard speakers like Maxime Bernier, leader of the populist People’s Party of Canada. The rally and Mr. Bernier’s message went all but uncovered in the mainstream media. That evening, a smaller demonstration estimated at about 5,000  people supporting Palestine had sporadic clashes with a smaller group supporting Israel at Nathan Phillips Square. That was the event that got all the media attention.

Participants hail from a wide range of backgrounds. I have talked to participants who voted Liberal, NDP, Green, Conservative or People’s Party in the last election. Mr. Farber, who, I suspect, has never attended an END THE LOCKDOWN rally, alleges participants are dedicated to “an anti-public health agenda aimed at undermining the Canadian economy and the health and well-being of Canadians”.

What unites these people, young and old, working class, middle-class, rural, urban, is a passionate attachment to freedoms they see being vacuumed away in government lockdowns and restrictions. Far from undermining the economy, they want the economy re-opened and the job and business crippling lockdowns ended, perhaps like the state of Florida which is wide open, with businesses open and no enforced mask mandate and an infection rate slightly lower than Ontario, which has been locked down since November.

Some from the start some feared that enforced masking was a dry run for forced vaccination. Now, there is widespread talk of some sort of proof of vaccination being a requirement for air travel, attendance at sporting event or entry to certain jobs.

Many are appalled by the loss of religious freedom. Three Alberta pastors have been handcuffed and jailed for holding Sunday services. Yes, in Alberta, not North Korea. A ban or severe limitation on gatherings essentially cancelled Christmas and Easter worship. Religious folk and many civil libertarians are horrified at the padlocking of defiant Christian churches as has happened to Pastor Henry Hildebrandt’s in Aylmer and Pastor James Coates’ in Edmonton.

The essential spirit of the END THE LOCKDOWN rallies was captured at a mass protest on a scorching July 1, Canada Day, on Parliament Hill. A sea of Canadian flags and some old Red Ensigns is one section set up a booming chant of “Freedom, Freedom” to be answered by a sea of Quebec Fleur de lys flags and a few flags from the Revolution of 1837 in another section and their chant “liberte, liberte”. — Paul Fromm

groups participating in many rallies is called Hugs Over Masks. In Toronto, a Chinese lady circulates through the crowd offering a tray of her home-baked treats free to fellow “freedom fighters.” Sadly, this elegant lady was handcuffed and arrested on May 8 for being in possession of a megaphone.

The END THE LOCKDOWN rallies are a political protest unseen since World War II. They started in Vancouver in mid-March 2020 The next weekend, they spread to Toronto. Those calling for an end to the crippling lockdown were sniffily dismissed by Premier Ford as “a bunch of yahoos”. Ironically, many of these people had been part of his Ford Nation.

Since then, the rallies have spread right across the country. The remarkable fact about these protests is their regularity and consistency. They occur weekly in cities large and small. Movements in the past have staged mass rallies but not weekly and right across the country. In the late ’60s, the left staged large anti-war demonstrations in major cities opposing the war in Vietnam twice a year. Similarly, in the mid-80s, the left staged large demonstrations against President Reagan’s star wars programme. Although these demonstrations were large, they were not weekly. Other groups have staged large protests but only on occasion like Right to Life’s annual pro-life rally in Ottawa  and demonstrations against specific legislation like more stringent gun control.

Free Max!

Free Max!

O sick Canada—sick country just plain SICK

People’s Party of Canada Leader, Maxime Bernier was arrested in Manitoba Friday!

After the first stop on his “Mad Max Manitoba Tour” in the small town of Niverville, he had been fined and threatened with arrest.

Just an hour later, RCMP officers arrested him outside the village of St-Pierre-Jolys, where he had just spoken to a crowd of supporters.

Maxime knew that by going to Manitoba he was going up against the provincial despot Brian Pallister, and that arrest was a real possibility.

He still did it, because Maxime deeply believes in freedom.

He has shown he has the courage and bravery to do what’s right.

Maxime Bernier, a political leader, was wrongfully arrested on charges that violate his constitutional rights as a Canadian citizen.

Section 2(c) of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the right to peaceful assembly.

This isn’t about COVID-19 anymore. It’s political oppression.

He was arrested for opposing the unjustified, unscientific, and disastrous lockdown measures that have been imposed on Canadians for over 15 months.

That’s the kind of stuff countries like China and Russia do.

Did you ever think Canada would turn into a place where there are political prisoners?

This is not the Canada we know and love.

Ted, we’re the only political party in Canada fighting for your freedom!

Will you help our cause with a donation of $20 today, or whatever you can afford, for the sake of this country?

Thank you for your continued support!
-PPC Team

P.S.: It’s possible that Maxime will be in jail for several days. Check our social media accounts for regular updates on Maxime’s situation in the coming hours and days.

People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier was arrested after appearing at a sparsely attended rally against COVID-19 restrictions in a southern Manitoba village on Friday afternoon.

Radio-Canada’s Laïssa Pamou who was covering the event said the rally in St-Pierre-Jolys, which is about 57 kilometres south of Winnipeg, saw no more than 15 people in attendance. After the event ended, Bernier got into a vehicle to head to a rally in nearby St. Malo, another small, rural community.

That’s when he was pulled out of the vehicle by Mounties who handcuffed him and put him in the back seat of an RCMP vehicle.

Bernier spoke to Radio-Canada shortly before he was detained and said he got a ticket for violating public health orders at a rally in the nearby town of Niverville earlier Friday. He did not say how much he was fined — just that he planned to fight it.

An RCMP spokesperson confirmed Bernier was ticketed earlier in the day.

“It is the duty of the RCMP to enforce the laws of Manitoba, and those include public health orders. Mr. Bernier knew of the health orders and has already received a ticket. The continuation of the offence of violating the current public health orders in Manitoba has resulted in his arrest,” Tara Seel said in an email.

Bernier was charged under the Public Health Act for assembling in a gathering at an outdoor public place and for failing to self-isolate once he got to Manitoba, and he will appear before a magistrate, Seel said.

Manitoba Justice said it would not comment on how long Bernier might be held and also would not say when he might appear before the magistrate, as his case is now before the courts.

The penalties section of Manitoba’s Public Health Act states the maximum sanction is a $100,000 fine, one year in jail or both.

Bernier had announced a tour of southern Manitoba this weekend that was set to include several stops at anti-lockdown rallies in spite of pandemic restrictions banning large events and requiring people to self-isolate when entering the province if they’re not fully vaccinated.

Bernier’s appearances in Niverville and St-Pierre-Jolys were the first two rallies listed on an itinerary posted on Facebook that was supposed to see him stop in the rural cities of Morden and Winkler later Friday.

He was also scheduled to appear in the communities of La Salle and Lorette, as well as in Winnipeg on Saturday, then in the cities of Steinbach and Selkirk on Sunday, according to the itinerary.

Rights violated, party claims

People’s Party of Canada spokesperson Martin Masse said in a statement Bernier was “wrongfully arrested” on charges that violate his charter rights.

“This isn’t about COVID anymore. It’s political repression. This is the kind of stuff countries like China and Russia do,” Masse said.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms said in a news release that it will appear in court on Bernier’s behalf.

The Calgary-based organization has also been involved in challenges of lockdown measures across the country, including one in Manitoba that saw seven churches take the province to court over its pandemic powers. No decision has been issued yet in that challenge.

A provincial spokesperson previously told CBC News that the province was aware of Bernier’s planned rallies and would be conducting surveillance to gather video and other evidence.

At a news conference on Thursday morning, Premier Brian Pallister said Bernier would be “light in the pocket book” if he planned on violating Manitoba’s public health orders.
